  1. What's funny about the mast year statement is one of the first guys to fix it besides myself was a guy on NASIOC I think. He wired pos direct to pump and neg off module. I figured out the neg was the changing lead the hard way by messing with Shawn's. Then frank said that was the case and then we found the NASIOC thread where a guy had done it long ago.
  2. Yes The alt sensing fuse. Look at your fuse box lid it will tell you
  3. Go back to my research early on when I was at Cobb fixing this in the parking lot. LOL I'm pretty sure if I remember correctly even if you powered the stock module direct it was still dropping voltage. I think about 1 volt I originally wanted to change the size of the fee wire from the stock fuel pump relay (feed) and leave the rest stock but it still wasn't enough to get it above the 13.5 threshold needed for aftermarket pumps. I posted all the results when I got back from Cobb its probably in the first 3-4 pages
  4. I would leave it alone. Two ways of doing it are direct positive relayed feed to the pump, larger neg wire from module to pump. Larger wire FEEDING MODULE and larger pos and neg wires to the pump from the module I personally think the STI module can handle it so I would leave it alone. You might double check the voltage coming out to see if anything has changed over last year or so Mine doesn't have larger wire and its been fine but I am getting ready to change it
  5. Good luck with that and tell us how it works when you get done.
  6. That is some sort of wastegate pressure switch????? What does that have to do with fuel pump voltage?
  7. Post up some pics like to see what they look like from frank
  8. Looks like NS goes down vertical into the back of the tyranny. The reverse backup screws in horizontal http://opposedforces.com/parts/impreza/us_g12/type_19/manual_transmission/transmission_case/illustration_2/
  9. Go to the opposed forces website it shows a pic of the the transmission with parts labels with numbers etc
  10. I actually think the difference is the width of the bolt holes where it bolts to the transmission. Obviously the part that goes into the tranny crossmember is the same as the LGT crossmember works fine. As mike said the height may be different as well. At any rate you will def want the one from the Subaru performance catalog
  11. As mike said the rear stay mount is the same part number for both 5 and 6 speed. I was understanding that the 5 speed transmission mount would not work and you had to use the 6 speed mount. I sold my group N 5 speed mount and purchased the 6 speed group N mount
  12. Dante so you just changed the UCA and nothing else with the spec B aluminum arm. What about the lowers? The other reason to do this is moving the transmission, engine cradle etc more tucked up under the car for better handling Also gets rid of that huge spacer where the front LCA mounts to the frame rail.
  13. Just let me know if you decide to do it, Not sure when Ill get mine changed out but probably will be soon. Just hold on to my user name and PM me if you decide you want it.
  14. I doubt Frank will have that DP bracket. It needs to be off a spec b If he has a spec b or 08 up sti you also need the R180 cradle I think NSFW was referring to the clutch fork pin and plug. I've seen that missing before. I think the transmission hold with 3.3 or 4.3 quarts and the rear diff R180 holds 1
  15. I had all the Cobb shifter stuff in my 5 speed as well, loved it. I actually just removed my Kartboy (Cobb) front and rear shifter bushings from the 6 speed. The noise in the first few gears into the cabin is pretty bad in a 6 speed. If I didnt drive my car every day and about 25k a year I probably would have left them. My car is already loud with the Cobb exhaust. I just purchased and installed stock STI shifter bushings from a brand new STI that someone removed on NASIOC. I then installed a Cobb double adjustable STS. I love how short you can get the throw and still adjust the stick height. This combo is perfect IMHO. The Cobb Shifter stiffens everything up (no rubber in the stick) and the STI shifter bushings keep thing somewhat stiff yet quiet. If you decide to get the Cobb Shifter for the 6 speed, you order the Double adjustable for the SPEC B. The only difference in the STI vs Spec B Cobb shifters is how the boot attaches. The way the legacy and Spec B shifter boot is you need the Spec B Cobb shifter Here is a portion of Ian armstrongs email to me: "Greg, The only difference between the 215315 STI shifter and the 224316 Spec B shifter is the top rod. On the STI, the shift boot holder screws in from underneath, so our happy shaft has provisions for this. The Spec B shift boot holder screws in from the side. Therefore, the shaft has a thicker portion where this screws attach to. Therefore, you'll just need to determine how your shift boot holder attaches, and order the appropriate one. If you have any other questions, please let me know. " Here is a video of what a newer STI transmission sounds like with the Cobb/Kartboy bushings [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Op8F8j-eA0s]2010 WRX STi Drive with Kartboy front and rear bushings and SS - YouTube[/ame]
  16. We all know all too well what you were trying to do. Many of us have done it And this shows that frank is obviously knowledgable about STI 6 speed swaps in the cars that normally get STI 6 speed swaps. WRX's Doesn't mean he is not highly recommended for parts I've talked to frank as well, great guys at millennium. I've bought parts from him. Driven from Kansas City to his business (while on a business trip), but when it comes to 6 speed swaps into a legacy, I'd come to this forum and ask those that have actually physically done the swap. That's what I did and why I did it. Thanks hammer, NSFW, and groeff I actually find this all quite comical as the drive shaft length issue was talked about quite extensively in these threads. Seriously Frank doesn't know that a legacy is a longer wheelbase than an Impreza? It's like the EJ255 motor. So many think all EJ255 motors were the same. They are not. Just like the legacy 5 speed and the WRX five speeds were not the same. While your at all this and trust me on this one. You need a spec B shift linkage or an 08 and Up STI one. I would look for the 08 up STI one. Don't let frank give you a shifter and linkage out of a STI PRIOR to 08. The stay rod will be too short unless you want to lengthen it as hammer did. Also if you go R180 make sure you not only get spec b axel shafts, get the spec b or 08 up STI cradle that holds the R180 And don't forget the spec b downpipe bracket.........
  17. The answer to your question is yes. Been discussed many times in these threads Only difference to spec b R180 and STI R180 is the yoke. You can swap your R160 yoke to an STI R180 so the driveshaft will bolt up. Only other thing to worry about is the R180 gear ratio. Make sure its for the correct STI transmission
  18. And it includes Outback XT I used a 2006 2.5i SEDAN 4eat auto shaft in my outback with a 08 up 6 speed AND R180.
  19. It's all the time. I first noticed vertical lines in the right side display going through the AFR numbers. Now I have some in the other display in the word boost etc. Ill take a pic of the right display with the AFR graph selection. You can see stripes across the whole thing. The boost one might be tricky but Ill try
