  1. I want to find a place that allows me to do a 4th gear pull to redline without going to jail and having my car impounded.
  2. Has anyone had success installing one of these downpipes from the group by batch yet?
  3. Considering the exhaust and rear badging, that's probably as good as confirmed short of Rogue77 commenting himself on it.
  4. He's mentioned a few times that the scoop design is a limiting factor. It makes me hope that someone out there will end up offering front-mount solution by the time I'm ready to consider upgrading my intercooler.
  5. Do aftermarket 18's still fit around them? I'd imagine that's a pretty tight fit if they do.
  6. Clicking on the pictures brings up a modal of the images with the following text above the picture itself: "Different J-Pipe pictured. Actual product will be the divorced pipe shown on the Downpipe Product page."
  7. Nameless is now advertising the TBE for our cars. You can select several different options when pricing them out. Things can get pretty expensive right quick, though. http://shop.namelessperformance.com/turboback-exhaust-2010-2014-legacy-gt/ They've also listed their BPV for our cars as well: http://shop.namelessperformance.com/wave-spring-bypass-valve-2010-14-legacy-gt/
  8. Spacers in the back would be better than getting 2 wider rims. Otherwise, you won't be able to rotate your tires, and you'll have to be super careful about overall tire dimensions and wear. Not worth the hassle.
  9. If the SHO weighed a little less, I would have more strongly considered it when I was car shopping in 2012. Having said that, I probably would have ended up trying to get one if the Legacy didn't end up being as good as it was. Just shows how limited selection is for decent family-friendly, AWD sedans with a bit of umph and a reasonable price.
  10. How do you keep it from sliding around on corners or acceleration/deceleration?
  11. We use an Accessport for that, which also lets our cars to be tuned pretty easily. JDM types can get one through Prova. http://www.cobbtuning.com/cobbprova-accessport-at-tsukuba-hyper-meeting-2010/
  12. I don't think Starks is experiencing this problem himself, but only sympathizing.
  13. Sounds like I could try to install my new BPV myself then. Might as well do it at the same time as the charge pipe.
  14. Same thing here. Test drove a 2.5i, then a 6 cylinder Outback (the dealership didn't have a Legacy 3.6R available), and then ordered the LGT and waited 3 months. I suspect most 2012 LGT owners that bought new would have had to order them, although there were reports of a few dealerships having one or two on hand at some point in 2012. Dunno if they ordered the cars themselves to have on the lot or a customer ordered the car and then backed out.
  15. Well, unless there's more information others could add, that definitively settles the matter for me.
  16. I didn't think so but Logan McDowell, in his stage 2 FYI thread, seems to indicate that you may. FWIW, the tuner I used said that the BPV was fine but the 2-port boost control solenoid (BCS) needed to be replaced with a 3-port. Thus, and for other reasons (e.g., the open source definition being completed), I'm doing both and going in for an new tune later this summer. Is this the best info we have on needing a tune after replacing the BPV? I'm kinda hoping I can replace the OEM BPV with the new Nameless one that I have at the same time that I replace the charge pipe. The quoted text seems to say, "maybe" at best. I don't particularly care about taking advantage of any gains, I just want to make sure that my car will still operate safely.
  17. Perrin is offering 10% off most of their stuff today for Veteran's Day.
  18. We still need to meet up. By "intake tube", do you mean the pipe that connects the turbo to the intercooler?
  19. I'm not sure how the car's weight is something worth investigating. He'd need to have several hundred pounds of extra weight to see the effects that he's seeing. Maybe Jackal hit a moose and it's still stuck in his windshield and he hasn't noticed?
  20. I would think that you'd want a clutch that can handle the most power you expect to put down during the clutch's life. If you spend 20% of the year on E85 and are putting down 350+ ft-lbs at the wheel, you'll probably want a stage 3 or comparable clutch I'd guess (I'm not a mechanic or any kind of clutch expert - this is just based on what info I've been able to research and attempting to apply it). I have no idea what the engagement is like for South Bend clutches (or ACT clutches for that matter), but I do know that the pressure plate is a lot stiffer with the South Bend stage 3, so you'll notice that in the clutch pedal. Based on what I've read, it will be comparable in pedal feel to the ACT HDSS clutch kit. I went with the HDSS for two reasons: it more than covers my power goals while I would have some uncertainty with the South Bend stage 2 clutch when I'm eventually ready to upgrade my intercooler, and Cobb Surgeline carries ACT clutches and was able to price it lower than I would have been able to get online and much cheaper than the South Bend stage 3. I don't know if my concerns with power levels on the South Bend stage 2 clutch are founded or not, and there's no way to know for sure without trying it, but I didn't really want do another clutch replacement in 40k miles, so I went with a higher rated clutch.
  21. You'll probably want to go with the South Bend Stage 3, or an ACT HDG6. When I was selecting my clutch (to be installed a week from today), South Bend told me that the Stage 2 and Stage 3 clutches are the same clutch, it is just the pressure plate that is different. I ended up going with the ACT HDSS, but I'm not on E85 and have no plans to go on it. Cobb Surgeline is doing my install and labor is going to be about 750. The HDSS clutch kit is about 620ish, and then I also got the TSK3 snout kit from Infamous Performance for 160. So I'll have about 1500 invested in just the clutch install, which is pretty much why my exhaust install and stage 2 protune is getting postponed until next year. Check out acumenhokie's thread on this very issue, as it sounds like you're heading towards a similar situation as him, even if you don't quite reach his power levels: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/another-clutch-bites-dust-options-400whp-400wtqi-243569.html
