  1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rim_(wheel)#Meaning Obviously, it can go either way in common language, just like how "wheel" may or may not include the tire.
  2. Why bother with that? Don't you just tell eBay "this is how much I'm willing to spend" and then it automatically increases your bid up to that amount depending on other incoming bids?
  3. I now have the same question. Is there any reason that I'd be interested in going up to the stage 3 clutch?
  4. I can't see any issues pointing something that looks like that at other vehicles. Nope, no issues at all.
  5. I was never spotted once unless it was at a tuning day or a car meet in the three+ years of owning and garaging just outside of Boston.
  6. This shouldn't be a problem with the Nameless divorced wastegate downpipe if I understand things correctly.
  7. Bleh. How reliable is the stock charge pipe at stage 2? I'm trying to keep the list of "extras" that I semi-sorta-kinda need to a minimum.
  8. Sounds like I should be looking more closely at the Avo one, then. Which is just as well since it looks like it might be the only option right now for something new in a box.
  9. Any idea if the RacerX charge pipe and the Nameless '15 WRX BPV could coexist without the tubing adapter that Nameless would be providing? I'm not really sure how to check for that myself (particularly since I don't currently possess either part). Edit: Although it looks like the charge pipe is still out of stock on RacerX's website. So... I guess I'd have to go with the AVO one and keep the tubing adapter.
  10. So, let's say you've purchased this $577.50 clutch. What else is involved, cost-wise, to install it and resurface the OEM flywheel? Just need a ballpark to plan for.
  11. This NASOIC thread should be required reading and linked to in the first post: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=911257 It is very helpful in getting some initial information on suspensions for those that are just starting to get into modifying them.
  12. Oh, you're not wrong. I just find it funny that within the span of 5 minutes, you recommend struts, and then coils. Originally, I was planning (eventually) to go with Koni's, mainly because I've never had coils before and know almost nothing about them or why I'd want to switch to them. I'm hoping to rectify that gap in my knowledge. But, Fred appears to be on a time table which is probably quite a bit faster than I'm prepared to operate at, if I end up deciding on coils at all.
  13. Oh, holding out isn't a problem at all. Ideally, I'd like to hold out until next year. I've spent about 2500 on the car in the last month, and still have at least a grand to spend in October. I'd like to not also have to spend money on child support and alimony. Ultimately, I was considering a specific pair of coils that are available, and if they'd meet my needs. Not knowing about aftermarket suspensions, I was considering coils so that I could fit more rim. But, hasty isn't my style and I like to do a lot more digging before I pull the trigger on anything.
  14. Time for me to start doing a lot of research in this area. Is there a particular reason why I'd want to use struts instead of coils? My application would be strictly daily driving.

  16. Saw the car. There's 3 guages on the pillars and two on the center dash. Definitely stage 2+, OZ wheels, plus the FMIC. I suspect it's Dujo's car. Of course, it was only one of several Legacies.
  17. I didn't look inside the cabin. It was in the air.
  18. I was at Motive yesterday and will be again today. I did not see sigmafour's car there. However, there were two Legacies up on the lifts when I got there yesterday, one of which was blue wagon and had a FMIC. Not sure if Dujo's.
  19. He's not recommending that you get rims from an STI. He's giving you the wheels specs that the STI run because they clear Brembos and you can then find any wheels of your choosing that run a similar spec. (Edit: beaten to the punch) Often times, aftermarket wheels that are compatible with big breaks will often say as much. For example: http://www.wedswheelsna.com/weds/wedssport/tc105n/

  21. No one is criticizing you for upgrading your sway bar on a family sedan ("because racecar" is really a joke, right?). It's just being pointed out that there are other upgrades that have a larger effect on the amount of grip (both more and less) your car has access to.
  22. Spotted a blue 5th gen LGT on Burlington Mall Road around 1/1:30pm earlier today. It looked stock and appeared to have a female driver.
  23. There's a billion 5th gen Legacies in the burbs of Boston. Not too many LGTs though, understandably. Still, I've seen more LGTs than most, despite never being spotted by other forum members on the road. But, you can't take a 20 minute drive without encountering at least 1 5th gen 2.5i.
