  1. It's actually pretty easy. Your manual has instructions.
  2. Since this is legacygt.com, doesn't there need to be a Legacy GT in the new generation?
  3. I picked up the toddler this evening and opened the two front windows, the sunroof, and her window (rear driver's). It's a short trip home, but every time I stepped on the loud pedal, she'd sit there in the back and giggle like she had lost her tiny little mind. I don't know if it's the sensation of acceleration or the sudden uptick in wind, but she definitely thought it was fun. It ended up turning into a game on the short drive home as I'd create some distance between the cars in front of me and then hit the gas while in second gear.
  4. When I looked into this, Bridgestone's spec for the OEM LGT tires (225/45 18) was as GTEASER mentioned: 7-8.5". I don't know if there's any drawbacks with putting those tires on a rim that's a half inch wider than the recommended width as I ended up getting 8.5" wheels and didn't bother researching it. Having said that, I doubt your plan is to keep the tires forever, or even stick with that tire size forever. If you suspect you'll be replacing your tires in a year or so and can tolerate the stretch and you'd prefer the 9" rim and everything that entails for the time being, just stick with it. Better to spend the money on the rims, which are expensive, once than to be unhappy with them and want to replace them.
  5. Yep, I plan on going with 255/40 when it it's time to replace my tires for that reason. Simply hadn't done the math on the 275/35s, but figured it was probably close which is why I thought they'd probably be fine.
  6. I've been listening to Words as Weapons by Seether all day, with the occasional other random song thrown in. Very easy song to listen to if you have even the slightest preference for rock/alternative music.
  7. I was thinking you'd stick with the /40s, but 35s would probably work since the tires as so wide anyway. I'm just terrified of potholes and want to make sure there's a decent amount of rubber to get through before the edge of the pavement can damage a wheel.
  8. Do you think that setup with the 275s would fit with 18 inch wheels?
  9. On a 8.5 inch rim? 245/40s if you have the clearance. You'll get a nice square fitment.
  10. Too bad you're not closer to Boston. Otherwise, I'd ask you to check and see if your parts department has the shifter busing washers for the 2015 WRX (Subaru P/N 031208006).
  11. You might be rubbing a little bit, but you should probably double-check just to be sure.
  12. ...you absorb all of the light in the visible spectrum?
  13. Black 5th gen LGT on Central St. in Andover yesterday evening. It was headed towards the center of town while I was going in the other direction heading home. Looked stock. I gave a thumbs-up, but the driver didn't really react.
  14. I'd like to know how you DIY some center caps. I could have spent a bunch of money on some Wedssport caps for my TC105Ns which were not hub centric and had no space for rings. Or (what I ended up doing) I could get lucky and find some custom aluminum caps on the FRS/BRZ forums and order a set for about the same price but also provided a hub centric fit. I'm not sure how you get a solid set of caps for under 150.
  15. So, to inform the people who might not necessarily be car-savvy enough know exactly what these pictures mean, can you point it out? It looks like something got pretty hot in there, and there are some cut-outs that may or may not have been intentionally put there. Edit: Found your explanation in the engine failure thread.
  16. If you're on 18's, you're in LGT territory which comes with a stock tire of 225/45R18. If you want to maintain that diameter while going wider, you most likely select a 245/40R18. I'd go with 245/40 over 235/40 mainly because of more tire tread on the ground and slightly more sidewall for a pothole or other hazard to travel through before breaking my wheels (but the sidewall difference isn't terribly significant). 245/45 will definitely give you additional sidewall height for sure. But, if someone wants to go with a stretched look, fine. I'm currently stretching the stock 225/45 tires on 8.5" rims, but that's only because I don't want to spend money on a new set of tires right now. I personally don't care for the look and would swap the tires out ASAP if I had a cool grand burning a hole in my wallet.
  17. How bright are the LED blinkers compared to the rest of the lights? In the pictures and video, they look a bit washed out since the DRLs are so bright. Otherwise, I love these things and they seem to be a very easy way to ditch the low-power high beam DRL (which I hate).
  18. I saw a dark grey 4th gen GT in a driveway near Merrimack College.
  19. More wagon owners should post, if only to make us USDM guys jealous.
