  1. On the jdm models that cooling port goes to a transmission cooler.
  2. I can attest to this as well. Much quieter than the 5MT. I think the direct linkage is the buggest culprit. I actually like the cable linkage more. With a short shifter kit it is a much more solid feel than my 5MT ever was (5MT had upgraded shifter everything too). Darnit. This makes me want to pull my engine for the quick rebuild and get it back on the road!
  3. I always use a toothpick or something similar to put in the oil ports when installing the cap to keep the oil channel clear.
  4. Steve works at PRE now. He doesn't tune anymore but you might get some answers to reach out there.
  5. You appear to have a leak vacuum/boost leak. Check all of the comming connections: Throttlebody to IC/Turbo to IC/Blue tee. Don't do anymore Pulls and stay out of boost until this is sorted.
  6. I don't plan on making anything as I don't need to but someone can. This should allow the use of oem topfeed tgvs to function as intended on a sidefeed car. I also didn't create the circuit. I did lots and lots of digging and found one to simulate to see that it does indeed give the correct voltages.
  7. I think this might work. This circuit takes a constant 12V and then you feed TGV voltage and invert it. It uses a TLV171 opamp. I found this and built the simulation to test that it gives intended voltages. 0.5V outputs 4.5V and vice-versa.
  8. 2 are hidden in the frame. They are above the 3 like shown below. - - - - -
  9. Here are the last updates via the wayback machine. Maybe we can get them moved over? Volume 1: https://web.archive.org/web/20180223102626/http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/btssm-bluetooth-adapter-app-v-1-closed-229709.html Volume 2: https://web.archive.org/web/20201113101240/https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/btssm-bluetooth-adapter-app-v-2-267811.html?s=b3f597998dd2b21209419b7184937a63&
  10. You should reach out to NSFW. He has dual avcs in his 05 LGT from a 08+ sti.
  11. I don't need to switch tgvs or a retune but I love a challenge and I'm just trying to help with the topic of conversation. Ecutek is an excellent solution...until it's not. Also not an option for any places that check CVN, just as you found living and working in Cali. Basically, any person that has emissions testing is SOL with any options.
  12. I bought a new engine gasket kit, some felpro headgaskets, oil cooler, and avcs gears. I have some spare avcs solenoids. Next up to buy is bearings and rings (will reuse RA pistons since I don't push high HP numbers). I might buy a new CHRA for my turbo if it looks compromised. Everything else will be cleaned and reused since it has just under 50k miles.
  13. I've also had an N/A subaru thay had a misfire from too tight valve lash (cylinder 2). After adjusting the valve lash it stopped misfiring and code went away too.
  14. Thats sucks. Once I got the install error message I stopped wasting my time. I've worked on cars too long to deal with that. At this point I should just get my ASE certification as a CYA for stuff like this (although I don't know if it would make any difference).
  15. I didn't message them again. They said before it was "installation error" for the pan. There's no way they'll take ownership or do anything. I have a spare set on hand. Thanks for reminding me.
  16. Well the killer bee oil pan fiasco finally caused the block to spin a bearing at 750 miles after replacing the pan (block has just under 50k miles). I changed the oil a couple of days ago and sent an analysis out. I didn't drive it yet but needed to move the car. At the startup yesterday I got knocking. I'm going to just pull it, inspect everything and swap bearings if it specs out. I'll still replace oil cooler (again), oil pump and avcs gears. I can't do another SB right now while my house is being built.
