  1. I finally got a chance to pickup my cylinder heads and case halves from the machine shop after they've been done a couple of weeks. New house=busyness. They cleaned it all, tested the heads, resurfaced for me. Hopefully I can start the blueprinting and assembly next week.
  2. This thread might give some useful information. https://www.legacygt.com/topic/129701-clone-your-immobilizer-chip-to-a-replacement-ecmecu/#comment-2680162
  3. I started re-wrapping the harness today using Tesa tape, braided sleeve, and heat shrink.
  4. Well, I just bought one to finally check. I don't have a sleeve but can get measurements for anyone when it shows up. I bought the 614147 part number for $12 shipped.
  5. My previous post states 86-89 Celica. SKF4087 is one such part. Here is a link to some cross reference numbers (scroll to the bottom). https://www.finditparts.com/products/4290072/federal-mogul-national-seals-614147?s_s=N4087&sctx=eyJzIjoiTjQwODciLCJzb3VyY2UiOiJzZWFyY2hwYWdlIiwicHJvZHVjdF9pZCI6IjQyOTAwNzIiLCJyZXN1bHRfY291bnQiOjExLCJyZXN1bHRfaWR4Ijo1fQ==&ga_list=Search%20Results%20V3
  6. It could be detonation. Any tuning or physical changes you've done recently? General modifications?
  7. I posted some part numbers somewhere here. I think it is from a 1995 toyota celica or something. I'll look for it again. Nope.
  8. I'm guessing the dipstick got bent. You can bend it back.
  9. That's correct for where you put the resistor. Then just put a paperclip or something in the one where you originally had the resistor.
  10. That oil dipstick needs to be rotated counterclockwise about 90 degrees.
  11. I believe you have the resistor on the wrong connector. There are 2 connectors that look the same with the orange piece. The one on the intake wiring harness is the dummy wire for the pcv system (only needs continuity) and the EGT connector is on the same harness as the MAF sensor connector and front 02 sensor connector but closer to the firewall.
  12. Oil pressure, oil temperature, and wideband afr.
  13. I believe it was because there were (and still are) very few LGT friendly options; everyone wanted to keep their foglights and not completely destroy the bumper to make them fit. WRX/STI platforms had so many more options (understandably so).
  14. I dropped my block halves and heads at the machine shop for cleaning today. I also have my pistons and rods ready to go. I ended up getting Manley drop-ins and Manley rods. Now that it's summer I look forward to getting the car back on the road. Oh, and it looks like we'll get to move in to our house this weekend. Stoked to have a garage again.
  15. 2 things: 1. Be sure the hose is SAE J30R9 or OEM and not lower (R7, etc). 2. Use a new oem fuel hose clamp. I've had many reused ones lose clamping ablility and most aftermarket ones suck.
  16. That's unlike him. His username is traildogck on most forums if you haven't tried. It doesn't look like he's been active here for a year.
  17. Install the shift linkage. You won't damage the transmission tapping the roll pin out. You'll be surprised at the play in the oem link.
  18. Based on my experience I can't recommend at least the welded aluminum pan. My pickup never seemed to have issues and looks good. I'd like the cast pan but I can't get myself to buy their parts right now. I still can't fathom how "installation error" was the blame for my pan weld failure (on a new oem block installed on a stand).
  19. No broken ringland. My turbo is a VF52 with billet compressor wheel.
  20. Split the case halves this evening. Nothing jumped out. Some wear on the bearings but nothing excessive.
  21. Pulled the engine on Sunday. Started breaking it down. So far, no signs of a spun bearing. I did find a missing nut on the turbo to downpipe. Maybe it rattled loose and that was my noise? Who knows. Rods not loose. Heads look good. Pistons look good. I still need to crack the case halves. Scored a sweet deal on 2 Manley drop in turbo tuff pistons. May jeed to pay full price on the 2 others. I also scored a great deal on manley h tuff rods. Looks like I'll have a built RA block now. I wish I could afford a bigger turbo.
