  1. Did you install the bulbs correctly? If you don't have them aligned in the socket the beam pattern is so poor they're basically DRL's. See the tab in the lower left of the socket? You won't believe how many times I find these bulbs installed crooked.
  2. Any fluid equivalent to Subaru ATF-HP is what you should use. The capacity of the transmission is 10.4 quarts. if you just pull the drain plug you'll only get about 4 quarts out. So if you do 3-4 of those you'll have mostly fresh fluid. If you decide to do a flush by pulling the lines off the radiator have a friend help you determine which hoses are in/out. Put the in hose in a bucket of fresh fluid and wait for the out hose to run the same color as the new fluid. only idle while you do this, it takes less than 5 minutes. Near the end of this process it is a good idea to shift it through the gears (R, D, 2, 1 if applicable) so fresh fluid makes it through all the valve body channels.
  3. I have actually, and I don't find it to be that big of a deal. do other manufacturers do it better? sure... but subaru has never been one to pave the way so to say. just a feature you adapt to, if you're the type of person that can, or you buy a $100 thingy. probably akin to when abs was coming out as standard; i don't need no stinking module to work my brakes for me, i been doing it just fine for years! I want to make something that probably costs dollars to produce and sell it to people like you.
  4. Infosec nailed it, but if you want to double down, so will I. I think it's silly you bought a car with a feature you don't want. Stick to the old stuff buddy. I'd love for my 3.6 to have auto stop start. I understand that the savings are minimal, I just think it's neat. The grass is always greener amiright?
  5. Jesus. Wish I'd come up with a silly $100 device to sell to people. One day...
  6. hard to judge size here, but could it possibly be similar to the AVCS sprocket fasteners? https://www.company23.com/products/subarutools/510?limit=100
  7. That's a Torx Plus part number. It's more square than a normal torx. Is the fastener a torx plus?
  8. I'm gonna do the price is right thing and bet 1 mile Bob! er wait, Drew!
  9. Because clean examples are few and far between, so good score! The parts to keep them nice are disappearing.
  10. I don't care if it's right or wrong but I always let my car warm up 3-5 minutes before starting off, at the very least i wait for the rpms to drop down to at least 1000.
  11. If the car isn't moving it's not the suspension. could be the secondary air pump if the noise only happens at start and goes away after 10'ish seconds.
  12. it's difficult to say WHY the line is missing, but I suppose you'll find out!
  13. no fluids. just get some vacuum line that has a secure fit and send it.
  14. Took of a picture of it on a customer car, it goes into the loom on the frame rail.
  15. it's a grenade with the pin pulled and lost buddy. but good luck! if there are no codes it'll be difficult to diagnose, clean or replace the MAF sensor and make sure there are no intake or exhaust leaks
  16. Well, what @m sprank said is true, and I'm sorry you didn't want to hear it. My recommendation is to find a USDM 2006 era IMPREZA WRX and swap that into your IMPREZA. Taking a JDM LEGACY and trying to put it into an USDM IMPREZA is a bad idea, as you have found out first hand. Or buddy, pave the way and let us know what you had to do to make it work so that others may follow in your footsteps. I did some googling and it appears that there are only those that want to know if it's possible, and those that have done it but now have issues. You really should have done some research before doing something that's not been done before.
  17. one of the many pains of a jdm car. try using this site to find part numbers to compare to US parts. they're probably the same, but... they might not be. worst case you'd "retro fit" US parts on to it, us rotor, caliper with bracket, and pads, it should all bolt on. I have a 2001 USDM gt limited which apparently got its own brakes here, but when I ordered gt limited rotors from rockauto they were much bigger than the ones on my car, rotor has to match the caliper. http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/
  18. Neat he turned it into a business. the first exotruck is pretty sweet. https://exotruckllc.godaddysites.com/
  19. I believe that is a ground junction for the ECM itself but I am not finding a good diagram to show you.
  20. I always recommend new idlers/tensioners when a car needs a belt. Most people dont buy them but it's the right way to do it.
  21. those pesky neighbors setting up signal blockers is too damn high!
  22. I don't think anyone has done this. You will have to pave the way. I think you're going to spend thousands and thousands of dollars just to find it can't work, just due to the fact that a legacy and an outback are kind of the same, but different enough. Oh, and not all EJ255's are the same, you would need one with the two piece oil pan. You're far better off finding a 3.6 donor, and putting a 6 speed behind that. 3.6's make more power (1hp less than an STi stock for stock), and you can put a supercharger on them if you want more.
