Moderators BarManBean Posted January 9, 2014 Moderators Share Posted January 9, 2014 Any word on cost, Mike? I have a kit on the shelf that I'll pass on to someone who needs it now rather than later, but would like to know what my replacement cost would be...? Thanks for pulling together another run as well! "Bullet-proof" your OEM TMIC! <<Buy your kit here>> Not currently in stock
m sprank
I am thinking $200 delivered for the standard kit. I need to verify the costs after everything went up approx 30% last year.

Moderators BarManBean Posted January 23, 2014 Moderators Share Posted January 23, 2014 Forgive my ignorance here--but what is the need / advantage of the full AVCS replacement kit? Is it just an extra sleeved hose? "Bullet-proof" your OEM TMIC! <<Buy your kit here>> Not currently in stock
dga
It gets rid of the stock AVCS line that goes from the shock tower area, to the supply banjo on the head (the one with the screen), to the AVCS. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7023/6778994149_408e922815_b.jpg
kzr750r1
So the old filtered BB location is plugged in this case?
dga
So the old filtered BB location is plugged in this case? Negative. That is the supply.
m sprank
The extra line set is for those looking to replace the metal piping that runs under he manifold. There are 2 different versions depending on model year (and oil galley location).
kzr750r1
Check. Your picture DGA is an 08 and I'm focused on 06 setup.

Does it just make it easier to move things around, is it a better line, does the stock line "wear" or go bad...? dga
Check. Your picture DGA is an 08 and I'm focused on 06 setup. I got ya. There are two full kits that differentiate between 05-06 and 07-09, due to the location of the oil supply. http://www.bescaredracing.com/sti/turbo/oil_feed/DSC08093.JPG I guess I'm asking what the advantage is...? Does it just make it easier to move things around, is it a better line, does the stock line "wear" or go bad...? I think the stock line is brazed together which can fail. There was a recall that added another bracket to the pipe that alleviated this. I remember taking the car in for this. Not sure if there were problems after that. http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/attachments/f87/13929d1222178961-subaru-announces-recall-turbo-oil-supply-pipe-oilfeedavcs.jpg It's not necessary, but it cleans up the area and you don't have a dead end tube that is pressurized after the install of just the filter kit. I like a clean install, that is why I'm getting the full kit.
m sprank
No performance improvement. Just an option for those looking to replace the stock pipe.
DrieStone
I'm a little confused by step one. Why am I removing the banjo bolt on the back of the head if I'm just putting it back? I took it out, and now I'm struggling getting it back in (I can't get the copper washer on the back of the fitting because there's no room to "operate"). I don't want to redo this if I'm making a mistake.
mitskip
You need to pull the filter out of it. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
m sprank
V2 prototype parts on the CNC now. Looking to have V2 kits fully tested and shipping out by Summer. New "hardier" filters that can be used with OEM turbos (still 10 micron filtration level), new filter brackets (billet now) and fitment options for LGT, WRX and STi. As always... designed, engineered, tested and produced in the USA.

DrieStone
You need to pull the filter out of it. I guess that's my confusion because the text of #1 is: Remove Subaru factory oil supply banjo bolt. Located on the back of the head between motor and up pipe. Optional: Remove the filter. Replace banjo bolt. If it's optional, why even follow step #1? Shouldn't it read: Optional: Remove Subaru factory oil supply banjo bolt. Located on the back of the head between motor and up pipe. Remove the filter. Replace banjo bolt. Instead it seems as though removing the filter is optional, but the rest of the step is required. Just to be clear I knew I wanted to remove the filter (and did), but I just wanted to make sure I'm not missing something.
m sprank
The filter needs to be inspected regardless. Removing it is the end users decision.

N.Y.X.
Why the change in filter Mike?
m sprank
Withstands higher pressures and temperatures. Has more filtration area. Works with OEM turbos now too (had a few of the old filters fail when used with OEM turbos). Plus its now anodized stealth black.
