GTEASER
^^Those look great on the 1st Gens!!! What size tires are you running? Looks like stock springs too...right? Any rubbing on the spring perches or inner wheel wells at full lock? SubaruLegacy43
^^What size tires are you running? Looks like stock springs too...right? I've got 215/45-17's now. The rear is stock but front I have 95 impreza springs. Dropped it a good inch and a half
SubaruLegacy43
Oh sorry man, didn't see the part about the rubbing until now. I do not have any rubbing anywhere. But I am also using 1 inch adapters for these wheels. I never had troubles with my wrx wheels though with same tire size. My friends SS did rub on the strut with the same size tire on 09ish wrx wheels so it differs. Hope that helps.
USLiberty
Went to get a 5speed at a jdm importer and ended up getting a smoking deal on an early liberty RS motor/transmission, closed deck and the clutch is barely broken in. 1000$ http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u386/onefastlt/CAM00214_zpsgbranbtg.jpg Now for getting it to fit in my trunk for the long drive back. http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u386/onefastlt/CAM00221_zpsdrvlmab5.jpg

USLiberty
It fit and didn't bottom out for 370miles. The OEM clutch looks new and this is by far the cleanest jdm motor I've seen. Can't wait to get this on an engine stand and reassembling it. http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u386/onefastlt/CAM00228_zpsqsctmpfw.jpg http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u386/onefastlt/Mobile%20Uploads/CAM00227_zpsln2pcffo.jpg Edited October 23, 2014 by USLiberty
monkeyposeur
i had to replace the fuel pump the other day(why do they have two types of pumps? 1 1/2 in and a 2in diameter), the engine would just die for no reason, cycle the key and bam back to moving, replaced it after having to go get the other pump and engine ran fine until i gunned it on a hill going 40 it died again, does this randomly now and i think it may be a relay another person said the pressure reg may be going out, and other forum post i read said he suspected the knock sensor. any ideas? I would clean your MAF with a can of MAF cleaner, about $6. It could be going bad. Is your fuel filter new as well? I would start with the MAF, then check the relay. When my MAF went bad I had a severe stuttering issue, but the engine would never die like yours. The fuel pressure regulator is just a little plastic thingy and it is probably OK. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/10/20/4ceb1dfecf68d8e113b64b65b5780a97.jpg Those look awesome! I've been trying to find a set of those for my SS. Are they knockoffs or the '04 STi rims?
SubaruLegacy43
Nope they are legit 06-07 STi rims. They require adapters however. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/10/23/fc864ccf0e9f57157ad918044f269b40.jpg
monkeyposeur
^Ah. I have been able to find those but I was worried about running an adapter and wearing out the wheel bearings. People want $1200 for the '04 STi rims. I did find a place to order them new for $220ish though. Let us know how the adapters work. I pulled the trigger on an '02 WRX scoop & splitter I found on NASIOC for a decent price.

I think I figured out that it is the harness on the maf, when I move the wires the care dies the same way it does on the road, so for now I zip tied the harness and the wires tight an it runs good, so I need to find parts to repair the harness
GTEASER
This just came in. Some other bits arrived yesterday. Gonna try my hand at fabricating and welding up my own custom stainless steel catback with v-bands at the diff and cat. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/10/24/18584aa497e2ff60bc387446ccf1afbd.jpg Edited October 24, 2014 by GTEASER GTEASER's 2012 Legacy GT - Sold GTEASER's 2009 XTeaser - Sold GTEASER's 1992 Legacy SS - Sold
s2baru
http://i991.photobucket.com/albums/af38/stu-nami/CarshowPics/20141024_110920_zpsyrhi4qug.jpg Had the pleasure of meeting this gentlemen yesterday along with his wife. Needing help loading some items in the back of their car at costco but couldn't get it fit so I told him to fold the rear seats down. He never knew that he could after close to 25 years of owning the vehicle. Car was immaculate and only 34,000 original miles. Got to talking for a bit and they had owned 22 subarus as an entire family with the 4 kids they had. This was their very first car they bought together when they got married and never gave it up, only used it to run errands they said. Most recently David said they bought a new 2014 Outback 3.6r to tow behind their rv but the plan is to trade it for a forester. What an amazing couple though, both shared their love for cars and especially the Subaru lineup. I've always coined the phrase "whats your legacy?" As in more tham the car itself, but life in general and whats been acconpl4 and shared over the years. What an amazing and lovingly couple, I hope I can find someone who shares the same passion and loyalty.
GTEASER
This. 17x7.5+45 Konig Feathers with 225/45-17 Handbook Ventures Evo2. Gonna have to add a little camber to the front to keep it from rubbing because its close to 0 right now. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/10/25/ab2a4715335c8eee5a9bd6c3a8b73a81.jpg http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/10/25/e119dbd72bca34b56e4df547430d18f3.jpg http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/10/25/0dc595c4354575a53ea10d8ba6ca668b.jpg Edited October 25, 2014 by GTEASER GTEASER's 2012 Legacy GT - Sold GTEASER's 2009 XTeaser - Sold GTEASER's 1992 Legacy SS - Sold
s2baru
Sittin pretty! Those 17s look massive because of the spoke design, just means killer break setup would make em pop even more. Mehrikey!!!
GTEASER
Haha, the fronts are at like 0 camber right now and already have hit the inner fender lip a little, bent it up, and cracked the paint. ERgh!! Tomorrow I will dial in a little camber to tip the top of the wheel inward. Good thing the car is gonna get Plastidipped. The rears will need a trim. These are about the biggest wheel and tires that could possible fit on this car without serious fender work and coilovers. I love the look and couldn't be more happy. The wheels won't look so big when I get side skirts and a big front lip on it. Unfortunately, big brakes are little ways off in the future.
