Happy Thanksgiving!

If Stromung can make them for the number I was given yesterday, $825-850 plus shipping is do-able for a final price.

That would be with double wall quad tips. Just need to make sure they did not forget the flex and 3" flat flange.

I am getting excited now. We are getting close to pulling the trigger.

^first post and already on board with a stromung! A man of discerning taste. Welcome to the board.

In other news... I picked up my car from the body shop today and the guys says "Your exhaust kinda sags you know. You should really go single pipe." I politely said, "But my bumper has dual cutouts."

Ummm... I need this exhaust.

Stromung is still in business. But all LGT products have been discontinued. I am bringing this CBE back from the dead.

I am thinking about having them fab me up a two piece DP. They used to make them for the LGT. Now that the 08WRX uses the same pipe, maybe there is interest again.

Divorced wastegate style shorty, round tube (similar to Perrin tubes). Cat or no cat. Used to be 2.5", going to see if they can make it 3".

If I have them make me one, seems like I should have a few made. Of course, its if they still have the jig. Just a thought.

^ To supplement.....

In the early days, sleeper8406, that was what was popular.

A lot of us weren't in it to max out power back then, with many looking to simply spice-up their daily-driver baby-hauler/grocery-getter a little. :)

The two-piece shorty-DP plus downstream allowed for those who desired to do so to retain either the factory third/last cat. for best odor/emissions control, as well as allowed those who desired either an aftermarket HFC or test-pipe the choice to go with those configurations, too.

In the early days, many different manufacturers offered a two-piece shorty-DP setup. :)

^ Are you implying I'm old, you old fart?;) Just you wait, I know which room you've reserved at the old-folks' home. I'm in the next room, and I like my music loud (since I hate wearing my hearing aids). :p

I'm a bass head. I got the room across the hall from both you. Old fart? Smells like a fresh one to me. LOL.

The days of the shorty pipe have pretty much passed. But maybe with a 3" pipe, instead of 2.5" it might be time for a revival. You know anything cool that goes out of style will be cool again in 20 years. Is it 20 years yet?

I just want to be different now. Everyone has a 1 piece Chinese made downpipe. I can have a 2 piece USA made one. Just to be different.

^ I can see that Dorm F will be having a lot of old-people fights. Reminds me of the all-male dorm at college. That was just a bad, bad place to be. Fun to visit, but I liked it that I was in a co-ed dorm. At least the halls didn't smell of feces - well, at least not all the time.....

Thank you for the history lesson. :)

:) NP. :) One thing I like about communities is that, sometimes, the older/original guys and gals stick around - the history always is entertaining to me.

Ever joust in a wheelchair? Canes work as a lance. I actualy worked at a "home" in high school. I learned all kinds of tricks in wheelchairs.

Not that I am looking forward to it though. I'm preparing to move my mom in with me now, just so I dont have to put her in one someday.

We spent 4 years going coast to coast while my grandparents finished their "journey". Grandma passed 3 years before Grandpa. We made sure they both lived all their days in the same house they bought together over 60 years before.

I moved into the house after they both passed and began the attempt to bring it back to its glory from 100 years ago.

I dont have kids of my own. So, I am not sure who will be there for me when the time comes. I just hope not to be a burden on my wife.

Quad tip CBE's are way more fun than getting older. For you under 30 members out there... Live it UP!

^ My grandparents actually had/have very good experiences in their "apartments."

My maternal grandfather was a well-loved member of the Taiwanese Army, and the retirement/assisted-living home they moved into was sponsored by the government; needless to say, he enjoyed the company of many of his comrades-at-arms (this was a man who actively fought battles against the Communists, back in his days), all the way until the day that he passed away. His wife suffered from early-onset dementia, and as you said of your mother above, it was good that we had her in the home well before the onset of her disease: she was, and remains, very comfortable, and comforted, there.

My mother's father was able to offer my paternal grandmother lodging in the same place - a huge favor, actually, as it was widely known to be the best such community available in the country. Similar to my maternal grandfather and his wife, my grandmother has a lot of friends there, too: escorting her for a visit to the US, we literally spent an hour saying goodbye to her friends. :)

Like you, I wonder about my days ahead. I don't have many close friends - unlike my grandparents - so I wonder how I'll find the journey.

Hope the house-work is going well. I'm not talented in that way, but I've helped friends with their projects. I know - in that somewhat removed way of knowing but not really knowing - how difficult it can be. The fact that the house has so much emotional ties for you, that must bring an extra layer of complications into the picture.

^ You have no idea. It has caused the largest riff in my family in 2 generations.

F'em all.

Its my grandparents house and I will never give up. They never did.

My mom is... my mom. No matter what, I am the first born and it will always be my responsibility to make sure she is ok. "Dad" is long gone and she has not had a "man" around in years. I dont think there are any suitors on the way. She took care of me for 18 years. I can return the favor.

My grandparents both lived into their mid 90's. All their friends were long gone. Heck even the VFW vets who came to pay tribute to my Grandfather at the funeral (WWII vet w/honors-stormed Normandy on D-day) were all 20 years younger than him. I dont know if i want to be around that long. It was nice to have them until I was so old. But I will have no grandchildren.

Crap. Enough.

Stainless quad tip rumbling sex for my SpecB. MMMMMMMMM good.

^ Yeah, it's time to think about the positives - lingering too long on the past gets depressing, my family has such a history, too. It's better to just remember the good parts, and take a pull when the bad parts start to surface, it's just not worth it.

Rumbly goodness. Think rumbly goodness. :)
