Parts from other models/years that fit our 5th gen.

Recommended Posts

Maybe I'm just not good at searching...

I can't seem to find reference to which polyurethane front sway bar bushing (23mm) fits the 5th generation?

I would double check the bolt spacing, but these should work.

Energy Suspension 23mm Bushings

So none of the model specific fsb bushings, like for WRX, fits the 5th gen?

I looked up part numbers on the Subaru Electronic Parts catalog and the 15 WRX and 10+ LGT have the same part numbers from the cool side of the turbo to the intake box including the funnel (some people have these made out of carbon fiber for bling factor). Same thing on intercooler feed hose too. Perfect for replacing bellowed plastic tubes with silicone ones.

On that note, has anyone attempted using a 15+ wrx intake on a legacy gt?

First off this is a sticky for CONFIRMED parts, and not for general guesses. Scroll up to see why I know [emoji13]. To answer your question to my best memory since this hasn't been discussed in some time, yet has been discussed in the forums before multiple times, I'm too lazy to do the search for you. Anyhow, the maf sensors are completely different for the '10-'12 GT and '15+ WRX, therefore a full '15+ intake won't work unless you adapt our maf to fit somehow or go speed density tune and get rid of the maf all together. There are some guys running the Cobb SF intake from '08+ and other similar/custom setups as such. IIRC there's someone that did a maf retro fit as well. But we are pretty much limited to using everything but the maf housing/section. However there's a reason we don't have an aftermarket intake, for a 5th Gen GT to even benefit from one you'd need to be stage 3+. So sure use the silicone/CF lower/mid intake pipes and even add a cone filter and custom box if you'd like but be sure to get a pro tune immediately. 5th Gen OTS maps are all for stock intake setup, they even say to use a stock airfilter.

2015+ WRX and STI steering wheels it 2012-2014 Legacy, confirmed by Hangar, as do DAMD, GTSpec and Prova

The only options for 2010-2011 are either GTSpec, DAMD or Prova unless you change out the airbag to the 2012+ style.

Does using a WRX steering wheel require rewire for cruise control? Audio controls don't work anyhow so fuckem.

The STi steering wheel is a direct swap for the wheel - the wheel frame is the same as the 2012-2014 Legacy. You will need the WRX/STi back panel as the WRX/STi airbag is shorter than the one in the legacy. The switches, trim piece, etc. all swap over perfectly (note - if you don't have a leather steering wheel with the silver trim piece at the bottom of the airbag, you'll need to buy that as well (the trim piece)

questions/discussion really doesn't belong in the sticky thread.

So far, I believe any '15+ WRX TMIC will fit (including the PW Verticooler, although the charge pipe needs to be extended). That said, a number of people have seen some very mediocre performance out of the Mishimoto TMIC, with much better numbers from other options, so unless you have an opportunity to get one at a seriously good price, it'd be worth shopping around.

The spoiler from a Legacy Blitzen Rev. A-C (1999-2001) fits our trunk just about perfectly. This also means that pretty much all other 3rd gen sedan spoilers should fit our trunks nicely. This is not mounted, just set on the trunk, drilling would bring the middle more flush.

Posting this on behalf of user testa422, since this is on his car. Roof spoiler from VA chassis WRX/STI ('15+) fit our car rather nicely. It's slightly less wide than the full window width, but the lines of the spoiler line up with the weatherstripping on our roofs, and the gap left is very small. It's held onto the window with a generous amount of 3M tape. Overall, the look really compliments the car, and it's definitely the most unique roof spoiler I've personally seen on our cars before.

The Perrin shift stop for the 2018 WRX works with the 5th Gen LGT with the short shifter and solves the problem of the shifter riding up over the stop. Just installed it in my car. I sort of wish it could get a little closer, but it's much better than before.

the one for the 2018 WRX (PSP-INR-019) has a vertical side to the "stop", while the one for the 2014-2017 WRX has an angled side to the "stop"
