Mine was just the switch that controls the rear drivers side window.......stopped responding to up or down for about 3 months. Suddenly started working again. Weird.
Do it right the first time.........or don't bother doing it at all.

Same here. Mine got stock up and I didn't realize it...drove 20 minutes and pulled through a drivethrough...but when I tried to open the window, nothing haha.

Had to go inside order and came back out and it worked again. Wtf?

I'll try some silicon lube and see what happens.

A non-oil non-throwing silicone based lube would be a better choice. I have some for my delrin RC gears. Will give it a squirt tomorrow and report back.

What do you mean by "non-throwing"?

add one more 2005 to this list...is this all on just the 05 models?

Can anyone report back if they managed to get this fixed up under warranty?

Nope mines an 06 and does it!

I was thinking about pulling it apart...

OK, I'm in - It sounds like a Subaru 'Feature'

05 driver's button sticks sometimes. It does not work at all occasionally, but it has always started working mysteriously after a few minutes. This usually happens at the drive-up bank ATM. I may try some dry lube in there- it couldn't hurt.

My driver side sticks also, push the button down but nothing happens. It only does it occasionally. What I've found that seems to not make it happen is to pull up on the button first before depressing it. I haven't had it not work ever since I started doing that.
