we are going to need you to get a better camera ;)

looks good though.

With some heat and patience its not hard to do the grill with vinyl, I did mine. But as mentioned, flat black paint would work too. If you have left-over vinyl I would just re-do the grill.

Does water bead up on this stuff? Do you ever have to treat or finish it? How do you wash it? How do you deal with tar and sap?

Personally, I would've just hit the grille with some flat black spray paint but a lesson learned is a lesson earned.

Good work though...you going with some matte black wheels to finish off the look? I think gold wheels would look awesome!

I'm sticking with the gold wheels. And I paid a few hundred bucks for an atlantic blue pearl grille, so I wasn't about to spray paint it

Looking good. Can't wait to see the finished project. Actually CAN wait because I know I'll want to have mine done when I see it....and I can't afford to (the wife will shoot me).

Who gives a rats ass about the quality of the progress pics for individual parts??? Just use the good cam for the final shots.

You're making pretty quick progress out of this. I'm guessing that the body panels will go quick (since they are mostly large flat objects) as long as you don't have any problems removing and replacing the panels from the car.

In for results, I've been thinking about coverting mine to matte white.

A car shop in southern california quoted me $2k to do the whole car in matte white, $300 is a super deal!

Is installing this stuff like installing window tint? I'm defenitely interested in giving this a try.

The flat body panels..well, anything that doesnt curve outward (like the grille, top ot the trunk back..a nd probably parts of the bumpers are the tough parts) but the hood was a joke, and the doors, fenders, and roof will be too =] I have a business trip next week, but I'll get the roof done sometime soon, and then while I'm away I'm getting my front bumper repainted, and then I'm going to try to do the rest as soon as possible

are you planning on doing the bottom of the bumper around the exhausts? on your car it is already matte black but i was wondering if it was too hot around the exhaust if it would melt..

I'm only going to do the painted part of the bumper, and not the lower plastic part

Update (with good DSLR pics! woo!):

the first piece that I did, behind the license plate (its wet)

the entire trunk- not the "stretch" marks behind where the license plate goes..luckily it can't be seen. the most important thing I've learned is that when using vinyl, you can't squeegee down one part, then strect another to form, stick it down, etc like I did in the above pic. Its best to heat up the entire piece, mold it to form, and them spend the time/detail getting it put down/stuck on/the bubbles out.

I'm SO glad that I bought this vinyl opposed to crappy vinyl because of its ability to push out the bubbles. If you look at the inside of the vinyl (the stick side) its textured/grooves and basically has pockets so that air bubbles don't show.. I'll post a picture eventually. anyway

the hood with grille and hood scoop removed:

with the grille and hood scoop done!

next, the roof! but probably not until next week =[ sigh

So I'm guessing you are gonna have to take those pinstripes off...

Looks really good so far....wanna do mine? :D

nopee! gunna keep them on, I was playing around with that before, you can't see the pinstripes through the vinyl and it doesnt appear to pull the stripe off with the vinyl upon removal
