I always thought the point of a forum was to look for SIMILARITIES not DIFFERENCES:confused:. I know the sarcasm in some of my posts may not make that clear but I am actually witty and sarcastic in person too:redface:. Anyway, good to know I can bring my gat to LGT.com yo.

m sprank you are taking this whole private room thing a bit far. you do know there is also a "private" political forum too? where all politics are discussed there and only there so it doesn't spread all over the site and start a red vs blue war all over.

 

the socal's lava room was made due to a few douche members from the tri-state area of which they called themselves the OT Mafia. They started to just post/harass in our Socal section, posting pics (and not all were work safe or even normal safe). few people kept reporting the posts to tide and to make it easier since anytime we posted any thread in the socal section the OTM would decend in and just f it up. tide created a "private" room where socal guys can hang/talk like we use to be able to, and anyone that applies can join in after approval to make sure none of the OTM guys or any of their alter screen names decide to sneak in and f it up again.

 

plus they got their own private section called the tikki lounge. and none of us are allowed in... and for the few minutes some of us accidentally got access, most threads in there was either about porn sites, threads on dissing members, and at that time, threads on how to f up socal member threads.

 

if you want to be mad, go get pissed at the OTM members. most of them are from the tri-state area. if it weren't for them, we wouldn't need/have the private section.

really started anything with anyone, we were just having our own little chatting thread where we could be stupid and have some fun.

 

Then one day, a few of the east coast individuals just came in and started picking on Hanger and some of the others...

basically Mike as the others have stated already, we were bombareded and Tide got sick of all the reporting going on so he made the socal post whore thread and lava room private to try and free more of his time up and cut down on all the 100's of emails he gets with the reports. It was never something brought up by either side for the tiki or lava room but it was the solution Tide felt was necessary and so we just moved on with it and that's the way its been since. I would hope that a decision on something so un-important in life wouldn't push you away from such a great community because we all do enjoy and value your experience and knowledge as well has helpfulness that you give to us. I do hope though that you will change your mind about friday and come out and see that we all aren't childish kids and or some cool kids group or anything, we just use what was pushed upon us to stay in contact with one another still is all that we are doing. I would be glad to get you into the room so you can shoot the shit with us in the post whoring thread because honestly it has been dying down BIG TIME with everyone working so much and trying to just keep jobs.

So I and at least a few other local members had no idea it existed (never heard of the OTmafia, Tiki Room or whatever the hell either). We were following this thread thinking it was the attempt at a meet for G. At what point was the meet going to become public knowledge? I only even found out about the **** room because some one finally sent me a PM like I was an idiot and wasnt paying attention.

 

Wether you think so or not you have created an exclusive community. No one even posted the meet in the open forum until I started bitching. Even then it is 4 days away. How long has the other thread been going? How long ago was it decided?

 

Pretty pathetic if you ask me. G's going away is nothing that needed to be hidden. Plus I have not seen any East Coast/West Coast BS ever. How long has it been since there was an issue? Is there really a need anymore. I understand the political forum being private. This is a car forum. If people want to go off about politics do it somewhere else. Same with religion.

the east/west thing has been over since the creation of the room, so about close to 1 year? and both sides are on strict no interaction watch in a way.

The moral of this story is if you want to plan something that's fine. But planning something "by committee" never works out.

 

You either leave it to die (as in many cases) and/or make the call yourself and TELL people where to be and when to be there...

Pure crap. G was asked several times to name a time and place and never did. Kept leaving it to committee. I offered several times to just do something,even if I paid. Got no response.
