amp27
you better. its your idea
fwa2500
was your idea, look at the top of the page another way to raise is to add metal to the bottom mount part or put spacers in. im working on the bottom part. let me explain. you know there are two bolts the connect the shocks to the car. welllll if you mount the shock 'up one hole' and then add metal to reach the bottom bolt. thats about a 2 inch lift. only problem is that 2 inches is alot and it might be bad for the axles..... confirm?? subikid90
Let me get this straight, 04 WRX/STi will bolt right up. What about 02-03 WRX? I know they work but do the sway right in or do I need different tophats? -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
fwa2500
those will also bolt right in no problem at all
Hops
Will the stock suspension from my BL/BP work on my BG? What if I wanted to lift my BG? Buy my cars!
fwa2500
im pretty sure the BL/BPs use a different rear set-up from the second gens, so i dont thingk those would work. to lift it i would look into second gen forester bits or lift kits designed for the GD imprezas
Hops
Yeah, that's what I figured. Damn stock suspension is blown and I can't decide if I want to leave my Baja wheels on and lift it or put my LGT wheels on and lower it... You know there's no way I can stay stock. Buy my cars! sha-d
so 04-07 wrx coilovers should work on a 98 L-GT? if so, i will buy a set right now !
fwa2500
that is correct, just make sure you get the WRX version and not the '05-07 STi version and you are ready to rock and roll
sha-d
2002 OEM WRX suspension setup on a 98 LGT - how much will it lower the car? thanks
fwa2500
not much if at all, i would say at most maybe .5 inch but the ride should be better all around.
Zues Marine
you wont notice a drop at all... it may even look higher due to the compression rate of wrx springs under the lighter load of the legacy front
fwa2500
mine looks just slightly lower than with the stock suspension now that i have the "05 STi springs on, about 2.5-3 fingers gap vs. the 4 fingers it was before lowering it with the s-techs. im MUCH happier with this ride hight and the ride quality. sha-d
i now have a set of 2002 wrx suspension, with 2004 wrx tanabe gf210's. hopefully it'll drop atleast 1.5"
StyleWagon
I don't think this was covered but will 1st gen (1993-2001) impreza springs fit our 2nd gen legs? Im assuming yes because my friend with a 98 impreza has I believe STI struts and prodrive springs off of a newer style impreza. Lemme know cause I have an oportunity to get some stuff for super cheap and this car i just bought needs suspension ASAP!
fwa2500
the gc springs will fit
StyleWagon
oh rry? Sound good. Do I need to do anything with the struts or will these work with just swapping them over onto the stock struts for now?
amp27
http://www.dirtyimpreza.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16296 raise it!!! dont lower it.
Hops
Hell yeah. I wonder if that would make my Outback a bit taller. Buy my cars!
amp27
didnt he get all those subframe parts from an outback? maybe if you got the springs and struts. i wonder how much that all costed him.
NickLippert
I am picking up a 95 L sedan on Tuesday and have a few 'spare' parts laying around. I have tophats and struts from an 07 wrx wagon and 05 wrx sedan springs. All I need is the front upper spring perch to make this setup work on my car right? subikid90
Can I run KYB-GR2's for a 97 LGT with 04 sti springs? If not what springs would be good to go with? I don't want to drop more than an inch. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap

I don't want to drop more than an inch. the STi springs will work fine but you will also need to pick up '04-07 STi rear top hats. the STi springs with the GR2s should be a pretty nice combo the drop would be maybe an inch at most. how much higher are we talking with the outback suspension versus the forester suspension? this i am not sure, i havent actually seen a legacy on forester suspension that i can remember but i know it is possible. i would assume that the fozz stuff might be *slightly* higher than the outback bits but again, i am not sure.
