Irimis
Got mine today. Having off the entire week due to an bad infection from oral surgery. I pulled the trigger since I'd be home to sign for it. Was not planning on putting it in, but my bro got off early from work. After managing to talk him in to helping, well doing almost all the work, it went pretty quick. I'm still have to adjust the cans as they are not sitting in the middle. Started getting colder so called it a day. They are sitting a little to much to the middle of the car right now. I know I can adjust them to sit correct so I'm not to worried right now, I have no plans on driving any time soon so no rush, can fix it over the weekend. I got some close ups of the weld on connection to the DP which makes it fit the 2.5". Sound clips once I get it centered and can run it a little while with out worrying about melting my bumper. Edit: If you look past my car you can see my friends de-riced g35. He took off the crap exhaust. And got the body kit repainted so I can really make fun of it anymore. Looks and sounds kind of nice now.
scoobydoobie
Thanks for the pics from everyone so far! Does it come with any gaskets? And do you all think it'd be fairly easy to tuck the tips into the cutouts a little more?
slvrlegacygt
so just to be clear the straight pipe and y-pipe are 3" with 2.5" flanges and the piping on the mufflers is 2.5"?
bushman33
Hey Legacychick, do you think you'll post some videos anytime soon?? Also, what is your opinion on the sound of this vs. the exhaust you had before??? If you could compare the two on a 1-10 sound/drone level and deepness(not really a word) of tone. Thanks Jason
tossty
Here's some installed pics. http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m135/legacychick/IMG_27632.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m135/legacychick/IMG_27622.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m135/legacychick/IMG_27642.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m135/legacychick/IMG_27652.jpg It really looks awesome. Nice fitment and OEM look. Thank you for posting the pictures of the CBE on your car. Looking forward on placing a order next week.
m sprank
I believe the y-pipe to mufflers is 2.25" just like the current SPT.
Irimis
so just to be clear the straight pipe and y-pipe are 3" with 2.5" flanges and the piping on the mufflers is 2.5"? The connection to the DP is a 2.5 the rest of the system is 3 till it reaches the split in the back. So if you really wanted you could go to a muffler shop and just have that really small 2.5 section cut and a 3" section put on making it a full 3". Yea it comes with all gaskets, the only thing I had to reuse was the nuts and springs at the downpipe connection, a new bolt was in the package. It had nuts/bolts welded in to straight that mate to the Y and a gasket there. Y pipe had nuts/bolts and gaskets for both cans. Mine are sitting in further than legacychick but thats due to the hangers not in the right spot. You might be able to get it pushed in a little bit but I don't think you would get them centered as easy.
m sprank
Might want to measure the piing to the cans just to verify. I do know that the current SPT is 2.25" from the y to the cans. 2.5" at the flange, 3" to the y. $45 at my local muffler shop to cut out the 2.5" flange, replace with 3" piping and a new flange. Thanks Jason I can post a video next Monday or Tuesday, since I'm heading out of town after work today. I do have a video of the GMS system if you'd like to hear that. It is in the vendor marketplace: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/gimmick-catback-exhaust-legacy-gt-128367p8.html After my drive this evening, I can get a better idea of the sound/drone levels. adpsmp
Just installed mine this afternoon. Used Rallitek hangers which seem to keep it a little tighter into the bumper cutouts. I'm pretty happy with the end result. It sounds relatively nice and low. Not ricey. Even the wife liked it...can't ask for more than that.

I would love to bite the bullet on this but need a bit more nudging.
bushman33
I'm at the same point as you greg. I heard Legacychick's GMS and I think it sounded alright, but I know as soon as the DP goes on, then its nothing but deep rasp. LOL
scoobydoobie
I'm with you guys, right on the fence about this. It really looks great tucked up with those Rallitek hangers. When you said it comes with all gaskets, does that include a new donut gasket as well as the flat ones? And has anyone installed it with an aftermarket DP? Curious to see how much louder/raspier it gets w/a HFC DP. Any drone noticed by any of you that have installed it? Thanks.
adpsmp
Here is a sound clip. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9atAXjvLcc]YouTube- 2008 Subaru Legacy GT Bosal V1.5 exhaust[/ame] No, it didn't come with the donut gasket. I reused the factory one. Worked fine. It did come with 3 flat gaskets, bolts, nuts, and decals (for those who like a little rice) I don't think it has very much drone at all. I usually have the radio on anyway, so I probably wouldn't notice if it had anyway. (hopefully, the link works)
subiedad51
Which DP do you have?
adpsmp
All stock except for CBE.

greg_mitch
All stock except for CBE. That actually sounds a bit too subtle...so my DP will probably help that out. Just doesn't have the low end rumble like the Magnaflow...but I suppose that could get annoying really quick.
scoobydoobie
Thanks for the soundclip. If I get one I'll most likely have a 3rd muffler or resonator welded onto the midpipe to prevent any rasp/drone with my otherwise full exhaust system. croll326
whats the Bosal part number? On their web site the year only goes to 04'
adpsmp
Just call Mike at Bosal. They only had 25 of these systems on the shelf. They don't show up on the Bosal website. Most if not all of the information you are looking for is in the original post of this thread.
Irimis
I have the rallitek rear (19mm) and the driver side has about one finger of clearance. I have not driven on it a lot but im assuming with the wonderful long island roads ill have a couple small hits. The connection from the Y to the cans is right next to the bar. I think even the stock bar it would be close. Passenger side there is plenty of clearance.
