bakabakablah
ill have to post a clip of my LGT with cxl CBE with stock downpipe, cobb sf intake and a custom tune. its pretty quiet...i want louder. maybe tonight if da snow doesnt pile up lol Have you posted a clip of this yet? All the videos I've seen so far are of LGTs with aftermarket DP/UP... I'd like to hear what this exhaust sounds like with just the CBE and nothing else. If it sounds anything like Magnaflows then I think I'll pretty much be sold on this exhaust.
black318i
Does anyone know if the CXL resonator is perforated or louvered?
m sprank
Does anyone know if the CXL resonator is perforated or louvered? Huh? Couldn't see down through it as I recall. Otherwise it is polished and shiny, lol.
black318i
Well I guess either way it should flow better than stock. IIRC stock cans will bolt up right?
m sprank
Yes, stock cans bolt up. It flows better than stock. 3" piping makes sure of that, even with a resonator.
CDN 2.5i
Does anyone know if the CXL resonator is perforated or louvered? I just checked mine - its perforated, just like the factory resonator. Constant inner diameter, eg 3" all the way through. (I have mine off the car still, waiting for warmer weather to clear coat it before I install it.) bakabakablah
Holy crap, that exhaust sounds great... that's exactly the sound I was looking for. Thanks for posting up the clip, MDKSDMF... looks like I'm going to be spending more money on my car soon edit: I just checked out the eBay store and it seems like there are multiple entries for the exhaust (i.e. "Dual Catback Exhaust Subaru Lecacy GT 05-07 Big Power, ...Dual Catback Exhaust Hi-Power). I'm assuming that there is only one kind of exhaust for the LGT, and that these are identical to the ones that you guys all bought?

Laverne
Yes. The CX kit has a large end on the hanger. The OEM ones have more of a mushroom to help push through hangers. I had a hell of a time fighting the hangers. But, I also pulled them off the car and an exhaust before installing them, so I was worked and tired already, lol. Use a little soap, and "wiggle" them side to side while palming. That works best. Screwdrivers will NOT help. You will never pry the opening any bigger, it just takes patience and pressure. Screwdrivers worked excellently for me, that and tire shine
m sprank
Screwdrivers worked excellently for me, that and tire shine Did you use OEM or Poly? I used Poly. They don't stretch like OEM, so screwdrivers are bad.

Scooter
I am interested in just the Mid-Y pipe so I sent the vendor an email on eBay asking if I could buy just that (no cans), and also if I could pick it up since I'm local. No and No. Too bad, as I really don't want to pay for things I don't need (mufflers & $80 shipping!) Anybody in SoCal just want the cans? Seek first to understand, then to be understood. CDN 2.5i
Installed the cxlighting CBE on my '05 2.5i late last week. Needed have a custom adapter fabbed as the midpipe is too short for the 2.5i plus the flanges are clocked wrong. Here's a couple cellphone pics of the adapter that the shop made up. I'll post some more pics showing tailpipe fitment plus a video within the next couple of days. Overall, very pleased with the fitment. Not sure if individual exhausts are off more than others. I am using kartboy hangers on the 2 front muffler hangers, the rest are still OEM rubber. http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/vv205/andrewolive/033120100331.jpg http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/vv205/andrewolive/033120100361.jpg http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/vv205/andrewolive/033120100371.jpg
LosAngelesLGT
The Gimmick exhaust and CX exhaust are the same thing except some CX exhausts have resonators and the Gimmick kits are stamped on the tip. I know because... I have a CX mid and GMS Y and cans;)
CDN 2.5i
Couple quick shots of the tailpipe alignment - note, we didn't do any tweaking. Just the kartboy hangers. They are closer to the insides than the outsides but pretty even across both sides so I'm happy with the way it turned out. http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/vv205/andrewolive/CIMG2902.jpg http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/vv205/andrewolive/CIMG2904.jpg Video posted in the N/A forum here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/exhaust-audio-video-clip-compilation-130408.html? thestratomaster
So it's not quite an exact bolt on for a 2.5i but it will work? just have the muffler shop do the install?
