In Chicago, the club is in disarray. Not having met in over a year, the consensus among the 4 remaining members is non-existent over which gear oil to use in our group buy.

Of course this is for the greater forum good.

What fluids do you all use in your transmission ?

Amsoil Severe Gear 75w110 in the trans for ~8-10k now. I'm amazed at how much less I feel/hear the syncros whining....but i'm not happy enough yet. Gonna try switching to a shorter, weighted knob then move the shifter height up about 1" (i.e. Lose 1" on the knob but make it taller 1"). After that, if i'm not yet happy, switching to Extra-S.

3 quarts Redline shockproof light and one quart Shockproof heavy in the tranny, and just Shockproof heavy in the rear diif.

I only see 75w90ns available for our cars. I have never heard of the light and heavy stuff.

Care to explain?
