mk6933
Has any one else had problems with oxidation? Mines gotten it really bad and its only an 09. I'm wondering if it has something to do with baking them...? Sometimes its the way its resealed. I had to open mine twice in a month to get it right. scottyg7171
Oh, sorry. Let me rephrase. Its oxidation on the outside of the lens giving the headlights kind of a foggy look. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem after baking them. I have a feeling that the oils there to prevent oxidation got baked away somehow. I used a headlight restoration kit and it looked great again... for about a week...
Catalyst
I didn't want to start a new thread and I searched a bit but couldn't find this answer. Can you mount a HID ballast (TRS 35w new style) under the 2005 headlight? Is there room on both lights and would you screw it in with small 1/2" screws? "This is an adventure." Squiden
Yes you can... At least on the 09 ( should be the same for the 05). I don't even have screws - I just made a wire mesh net that attaches to the headlight bracket and back of the light, so it is completely removable. Yeah, m sprank did it on one of his headlamps.. there's plenty of clearance down there. Just be careful putting the lamp back into its place, it might break off on the bumper bracket unless you completely take that thing off, and then put it back on when you're done. Catalyst
Awesome, I thought so. I ordered the short cord length for the ballasts, so I'm glad it'll fit "This is an adventure."

GTTuner
Thanks, need to get some pic's at night. I modified the reflectors so I could reinstall them to cover the holes left behind when you pull them out. Kind of disappointed the LEDs are not brighter. I think the lens in there disperses the light a bit.
ej25_TS
Thinking about doing a LED strip mod. Where is everyone buying theres?

Once the stock plastic wears, it will oxidize no matter how often it is polished until you treat the plastic with a good wax or in extreme cases a clearcoat. (this is the same for carbon hoods that are gelcoated.
05SilverScubie
There's also customdynamics.com. I use their strips on my motorcycle and after a year of the vibrations and heat there was no issues. Might be a dollar or 2 more but strongly reccomended. Had Oznium strips that burnt out.
Black Dragon
Why don't you apply a clear coat after you polish it. It'll look awsome

adhdrockstar
If only someone made clear lenses for the 94-99's they would look killer on it with projectors like your doing. Oh and I like your work man. Props! -Urban Cowboy
allgrownup
I was forced to blackout halo's because the blue painters tape removed the chrome paint. also painted over amber and left the reflector dish reflective. not sure how I feel about it yet..depos may be in my future...thoughts? http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o299/calmes12/IMG_1334.jpg
mr_luv
Looks good but with out a shroud and reflectors hiding the optics makes your hard work less appealing. Here's a example of my 1st on the legacy. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y209/mrluv1/Retrofits/DSC_0100-1.jpg And a STI http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y209/mrluv1/Retrofits/53b7f7c7.jpg Your almost there just put some more work into your craft and you will be knocking them out the park with ease.
