GT-R; Car an Driver keeps slowing down

That was taken directly from the article. The GT-R "won" the test even though it was not even close to the fastest around the track and it "has no soul" :lol:

 

 

I can understand what C&D said. I mean, if there not capable of driving the car fast enough(which is witnessed by the facts that their performance stat are off from what has been recorded by other sources). Then did they really get to the limit of the car and understand its true behaviour?

You know whats funny is i have seen stock c6 z06s with just drag radials run 10.8s. So the answer to your question is put new tires on your vette. Or a cam, whichever you like. Either way the ls7 can produce 730crank hp when builtcorrectly and still be a turn key car with no problems on the street. Now if you wanna go with forced induction the sky is the limit but when your talking 1500hp the street gets a little blurry

 

Gee.... I wonder what the GT-R would do with drag specific tires?

From Haltech's website, "This is our 100% stock R35 GTR in full trim and a full tank of pump fuel - the only modification made was the addition of the Haltech ECU, the full stock exhaust is still in place"

A stage 2 setup, which is down pipe up pipe and a tune is not gonna take a 6 speed ls1 with a good driver, a stage 2 with some supporting mods i have seen go high 12s so that could keep up with a stock ls1 car.

 

You might not have seen it, but I have ;)

 

Driving ability doesn't have much to do with it when you start from a roll at 60, there's only one gear change involved and unless you screw that up all you have to do is steer.

Lol i doubt the automatic AWD skyline has anywhere near the traction problems as the 3300lbs 450rwhp stick corvette. Drag radials and slicks are completely different and i bet with slicks it could be closer to mid 10s. Why dont we forget the z06 then and see waht the zr1 with drag radiasl would do, can you say 560rwhp launching at 5krpms in a 3300lbs car?

If you want to bring tuning into the equation, then wait a short while until the GT-R gets into the same territory.

 

The stock GT-R V Spec has yet to come into production too remember ;)

The GT-R doesn't have traction problems it has launch control as standard ;)

If you have one post up some details and timeslips - not "it would have rrun 12's if...." :lol: When pressed for details the number of 12 second pump gas Legacy GTs drops like a rock ;)

 

As for that race prepped GT-R - if 11.1 seconds is fast for a race car then you must be into Junior Dragsters :lol:

 

It wasn't "race prepped". Probably, less race prepped then the Z06 of DRs:lol:

It may seem like im hating on the GT-R but im not, i am very interested to see what the spec v brings to the table. I think both are very awesome cars but when it comes to the 1/4mile i havent seen the GT-r do anything that insane. With tuning and soem bolt ons im sure someone will get one into the 10s, even more so if the spec v is stick so you can launch like a bat out of hell. Im also intersted to see what people can do with the zr-1, people seem to forget that with roots style superchargers once you add a smaller pulley, exhaust and a tune that people have seen over 100rwhp with bolt ons. If they can do that with the zr-1 well you have a 650-680rwhp car with just bolt ons. Thats pretty insane

The majority of those guys were deep into the 12s. A pump gas tune would have seen them still in the twelves.

 

What happens to all the LSX RWD cars when you take away their DRs and they have to look for on the street?;):lol:

Did I miss something? We are now comparing the Z06 to a legacy in terms of speed? What??? I may not be the brightest person, but I'm not gonna make some outrageous claim that the legacy is gonna whoop on a Z06.

I thought this thread was about the GT-R?
