I like the celtics. I guess I like the classics, but they have the best record because they are in the east. Period.

Well then, who in the West has beat the C's?

Best record is the best... Period. ;)

And I've seen Rondo for 40+ games this season and hes pretty promising. The only reason he's not getting triple doubles is cuz hes playing with an unselfish team. Guy rips steals, can blow past anyone, and never turns the ball over. Like I said, everyone here plays their role to win games, and its worked so far. Only 8 losses. :D

Kobe will probably get selfish and ruin it for the Lakers anyways. He's got a history of doing that... :Shaq:. ;) Only one ball, can they share it like the C's?

Only time wil tell.

More food for thought:

Kidd: 11pts / 10ass /4to / 1.5 steals pg

Rondo: 10pts / 4.5ass / 1.7 to / 2 steals pg

Kidd has twice the turnovers, less steals, and pretty much only beats rondo in assists. And Rondo's a second year player vs 11 year vet.

please dont compare rondo with kid, there is no comparison, you also forgot to mention that kidd gets 8.1 rebounds per game. Kidd doubles rondo in the assist column. You also forgot that rondo is surrounded by the big three, so things are a little easier for him. I can't believe I even need to argue about your kidd/rondo comparison. Everyone really doesn't appreciate how good Kidd is since nash went to phoenix. The only two young point guards that can reach the level that kidd has been to are: deron williams and chris paul.

please dont turn this thread into a celtics are the best thread. I just wanted to celebrate the news with all the laker fans in so cal (thats why I posted in the so cal section)

Sorry, wan't my intention, thought we were just having some good b-ball debate since there was only really 2 or 3 of us chiming in. :)

(Oh, and I picked this thread up in the ISpy, I wasn't just lurking the SoCal threads. ;) )

Lakers did well. Helluva trade for you guys. Now they have a big 2 to build around again. Hopefully they can put up a good fight in the West now. :)

Hey, Rondo was the only question mark going into the season and hes solidified himself as a legitimate point guard IMO.

Guys fast as hell. Runs the floor with hardly any turnovers. Can cut to the basket. Defends like a veteran. New Jason Kidd if you ask me.

Ive been watching alot of games paying close attention to him... dont sleep on Rondo.

I think Fisher would have a tough time keeping with Rondo, hes so much quicker.

I'm a Net/Knick fan and both teams suck this year.

I am a huge KG fan. I would love this guy to get a ring this year. The real test will come against Detroit.

The Celts have to work like the Bulls of the 90s. Let all of the western conference teams beat each other up and swoop in for the kill in the finals(if they get that far).

The Celtics can't go 7 games in the first round against an 8th seed.

I also like Rondo (blazin' quick) but he needs to bulk up a bit to deal with Kidd, Billups and Wade. The playoffs are more of a half court contest.

I'm probably the only person that has Wu-Tang Clan and Paul McCartney on their mp3.:p

Wow. Didn't think we had any NBA fans in this forum

Sorry to bust your bubble Mines but the Celtics swept the season series against your Lakers this year. Even if Gasol had been in those games against the Celtics, you really think he was going to score against Kevin Garnett? They both play the same position. I think KG would destroy Pau in every aspect of the game. I'd like to see Lakers vs. Celtics in the finals this year. I'm sick of watching the boring San Antonio and Detroit match up.

so gasol had a pretty good debut 24 points 12 rebounds

He looked pretty lost in the first quarter, but since hes so intelligent he just went with the flow of the game

when gasol learns the triangle, and with bynum back and acclimated, watch out this team will be a HANDFUL

about shaq, I really dont know why such a fast pace team is going to trade for shaq. He is owed 40 million over the next two years, I just dont get it.

It is kind of sad though, because teams only "use" shaq when they need to get to a championship and drop him when they are done with their runs. Orlando Magic, Lakers and now possibly the Heat

Shaq is too big for his own legs and in the past 5 years his toe ha ..... too bad he can't play 20 games straight without sitting 5 or 6 for some ache or strain. Maybe the suns will just have him stand on the defensive end and not even participate in offense. They have a high scoring offense that will allow that ha

suns will realize how much of an asset marion is. I really like marion, too bad he is selfish and doesn't want to be their team's defensive specialist and garbage player.

HOW DID THIS SHAQ TRADE GO DOWN?!?! it doesn't add up

Shaq going to the Suns does not mean the Suns will change there uptempo style.

Shaq is there as a defensive presence for the playoffs, which is more of a half court contest. The game is slowed down as well as overall scoring in the playoffs.

The only question is will he stay healthy. Even if he is healthy, he's not playing more than 30 minutes a night.

Many of you guys don't remember the Laker's Showtime in the 80s. You don't think Kareem was running 94 feet when the Laker had the fastbreak going.

Kameem would hangout at half court while Magic would dish off to James Worthy Byron Scott for a dunk.

Nash will do the same thing. If the break is not there he will run the offense.

Oh, and now Amare Stoudemire can play some powerforward (I like to call the 4 position).

This is going to be interesting to say the least.

I'm probably the only person that has Wu-Tang Clan and Paul McCartney on their mp3.:p

And just to note.. Rondo IS capable of running the offense for this team. He speeds up the tempo of the game. You just wouldn't know because you don't watch the Celtics games. The media likes to talk a lot of smack so I'm sure that's where you've picked up on it.

And of the Cassell talks? Rondo PWNED Cassell last night! IIRC - 20 points, 8 Reb, 5 Steals, 5 Assists! Absolutely abused the 11 year vet!

They just had an article in the Boston paper yesterday about Rondo being a serious legitimate point guard in the league too. Good timing, I've been saying this for the past month!

I don't even watch ESPN.

My point was you don't 25 year-old big man to play on a uptempo team. Unfortunaley, Shaq looks like he's about 400lbs.

I'm probably the only person that has Wu-Tang Clan and Paul McCartney on their mp3.:p

will shaq be like kareem when he got traded?

or will shaw be like ewing when he got traded?

both are on the far ends of the spectrum, only time will tell

Phoenix hopes he's like Kareem. At least a little.

The other factor is the western conference. In the playoffs every round is a grind.

Hell, 1 vs 8 seed in the first round might go six games. Not good for the diesel.

I'm probably the only person that has Wu-Tang Clan and Paul McCartney on their mp3.:p
