Stopped by the park today and it looks good. Here's a few pics that I took.

Alot of park benches and BBQ areas.

A few good parking lots.

Or some good dirt areas too.

Very easy to find.

From 99 exit 198 E. to Visalia

Exit Plaza Park and turn RIGHT at the light. (Behind the Holiday Inn)

Less than a 1/4 mile it dead ends at the park, you can't miss it.

Looks fine to me. I guess my next question is how many people do we think we'll get here? The reason I ask is because sometimes, when you exceed a certain number of people at an organized meeting, you are required to alert the local city government, and or get a permit (generally a nominal fee) but if we dont know for sure a call might be in order. Otherwise harassment from local police agencies is expected.

Just a heads up.

What's the difference between 20 cars parked together having a BBQ in the park VS. 20 cars parked together for a birthday party in the park?

We'll be lucky if we get 20 cars to come out during our 1st meeting.

i just talked to the visalia police dept. they said no problem as long as we don't break any laws such as parking on the grass, not parking in marked stalls, etc.

its an open kind of use park. only thing is if we wanted to reserve a cabana or such then we would need to call the park service. so as far as an informal gathering and no one does something stupid we will be ok.

Thanks mbshop.:)

I used to work for San Ramon Parks and Facilities up in the Bay Area. There was no restrictions to who or how many people could visit the park at a given time. The only time police would show up, is if someone was doing something they shouldn't be doing. In general, the only time you would need a permit is if you were holding an "event" where people would have to pay money, such as sporting events, shows/concerts, fund raising events....etc.

Man it's been beautiful the last two days, sunny with temps being in the high 60's.

What a change from Monday, here's a pic of my drive down to Visalia that morning.
