My fm trans seems okay. There is nothing for our cars yet. The jazzy mod or doing that $800 dash kit. I ussaly have mobile car audio do everything to my car I trust them. Who do you go through at progressive. I know jared there.

I called Bill. I think he's the owner. One of the guys on iClub use to work there (awhile ago) and he referred me to Bill.

Bill was cool, did some searching. He said it looks like one company has something in the works, but not on the market yet. I forwarded him the jazzy mod & he said he'll take a look at it & lmk if he can install it for me.

I'll let you guys know what he says. My friend says he can do this for me, after glancing at the install instructions. So at least I have a back up plan if Bill doesn't want to do it.

...so digital fm transmitter for ipod=bad investment?

Well, depending on what your level of expectations are. I was OK with it at first, just to have so much more music available without having to change my CD's. But the quality was a disappointment in the long run... for me anyway.

Nah, it's not you guys. One is a dark blue (regal blue pearl) LGT, and another is a black lgt. I can honestly confirm that neither are members of i-club or lgt.com that i know of yet.

I've only seen one other RBP LGT (other than mine) near the Pearl City Sam's Club area.

I wonder if that black LGT is the one kawshon1 was talking about on the spotted thread on i-club.

saw a nice black legacy gt on the freeway today at about 3pm. Im sorry if my passing of the slower cars in front of me made you think I wanted to race. It was not my intention. But what I did find funny was when you tried to pass me while I was cruising in 4th and you couldnt and got mad. And then proceeded to get 2 lanes over from me and then downshift and take off only to be stopped by another car in front of you. Did you break your shifter? That downshift looked extremely violent and I thought you managed to rip your shifter off it's cables. You really leaned into it! I just hope everything is ok with your car.

In all seriousness, this community doesnt tolerate things like that and quite frankly it's incidents like this that make me think twice about getting back into another scooby. No harm intended with this post, again I apologize if my changing lanes at a quick pace prompted you to think I wanted to race with you. Have a nice day.

I picked up from CompUSA a while back a FM Modulator for the IPOD that you connected thru the cigarette lighter....It worked being able to store several FM Stations and Charge your IPOD too while being able to play thru your radio.

In the end after changing all the speakers with components though, the sound fidelity cant compare to putting in your own deck and running an amp w/ sub...Alpines (other decks) now have cables to connect to a USB Thumbdrive (up to 8 GB) and seperate one for your IPOD, and the fidelity/clarity is better than FM station of course.....

i'm going to drive around tom. gonna try and see if i can find a fellow LGT owner!

Chris, if you ever see me while driving your Yaris you better honk... I have yet to see your wise investment! For the record, I never laughed or mocked your decision.

Yeah I'll honk, if i see you. I really don't mind the criticism, there have been mostly positive responses with the car. It has a good amount of power, and gets me great mileage for work, allowing me to save more money on my expense accounts, freeing up some money for modding :)

Yeah,..my friend still has his and the front Brembos,..he is looking at getting a 05 wagon possibly and may keep the Front Brembos,..the front lines on his ex LGT was a bitch to crack loose so I gave up as it was stripping the connectors even with brake line wrenches,..its like you need a tight vise and "snap or crack" it loose,..but with PB Blast etc,..no dice..I left it.

So he still has new coated Goodrich lines for $120 for the F&R set,...

Born and raised in Honolulu. Now live outside of Sacramento. Anyway, my sister just experienced her second questionable service experience with Servco and doesn't have faith in them anymore. Is there an independent shop that works on Subarus you guys recommend?

Thanks!

What was the nature of her experience at Servco?

They've been good to me so far & I have my 60k service coming up in a few months.

They've been good to me so far & I have my 60k service coming up in a few months.

The first was when they recommended she replace one of her tires. She went to Costco and they told her she needed to replace all four tires because her set accumulated too much wear to replace just one. She suspected Costco was trying to pull a fast one on her and took the car back to Servco. Upon reinspection, Servco determined that Costco was correct.

The most recent one involved a transmission leak due to an improperly installed filter. Servco concluded my sister had work done on the car by an outside mechanic because "they would never make such a mistake." After she produced documentation that Servco performed the transmission service during an earlier visit, they changed their diagnosis and told her she ran over something that damaged the filter.

And another thing. When my father picked up the car he noticed that Servco rotated her tires. He explained that Costco rotated the tires two weeks earlier and asked if they could switch them back. The service writer went to speak with the tech and returned to tell my father that the tires were not rotated after all. Sensing something was fishy, my father told the service writer that he was going to Costco to verify and would be very pissed if he was being lied to. The service writer checked with the tech again and came back to say the tires WERE in fact rotated and that it shouldn't be a problem.

Needless to say my sister has zero faith in Servco Subaru and would like to find an independent Subaru mechanic.

Not sure when the tire incident occurred. I'll need to ask my sister. The transmission/tire rotation BS was last week.

Any mechanic you folks recommend?

Thanks!

Hey, I called them about 2 months ago about the 30k service and the guy quoted me $650 for everything. I was wondering what were you quoted for the 30K service?

FJ60,

Sorry, I don't know anybody to recommend. Subaru's here are one-of-a-kind so there are not that many specialist who knows Subaru's that good.

anyone consider taking their suby to ryan or davin at Vakamon/ R&D motorsports to do thier service? I wanna see if they can do it, Ryan and davin always have been good to my suby!

I was thinking about shooting ryan a PM to ask about my 60K service that's coming up soon. Servco quoted me $840 but they would credit me certain services if I did them on my own (oil change, air filter, tire rotation, radiator fluid).

Chris,

What is involved with a 60k service? When i did my 40k service it was plugs, and oil change, since i did my tranny flush and fill at 17k roughly. I think my T-belts were good. I'm approaching 52k, and tranny fluid feels like i need to do it again. I'd be down to help, maybe we can combine on an order and save shipping on some fluids?

I'm open to that idea...never have done some stuff that Steve says I am capable of (diff fluids, tranny, etc.)

Here is what the 60K service includes:

The 5K service

Oil/Filter change

KREX (?) Motor oil lubricant

tire rotation

inspection of wipers, air filter, lights, horns, tires

inspection of front & rear brakes

inspection of drive belts & hoses

inspection of drive shaft boots

top off all fluids

lubricate hinges and joints

PLUS

The 15K Service

everything in 5K service

inspection of exhaust system

inspection of power steering system for leakage

inspection of C/V joints

inspection of axle half shaft

inspection of parking brake

inspection of clutch and hill holder system

inspection of steering and suspension

PLUS

The 30K service

everything in 5K & 15K service

INSPECTION of timing belt

replacement of fuel filter

inspection of fuel system, lines, hoses, and connections

replacement of spark plugs

draining and refilling of tranny fluid

draining and refilling of engine coolant

replacement of front/rear diff fluid

replacement of air filter

perform flush of the brake fluid

PLUS

Replacement of drive belts

Inspection of front/reah wheel bearing lubricant

Of note, it does NOT include the replacement of the timing belt (which they charge a cool $1300 for). That's recommended at 90K for the LGT & I presume for the WRX as well.

I'm not sure if I'm willing to fork out $840. That's my entire economic tax stimulas check that I should be getting by thie Friday!

Has anyone here done their own spark plugs? I hear getting to the coil pack on the rear driver side isn't fun.

My STI is due for service soon as well. I'm down to help out. I did my own 30k service. LMK when you guys decide to do it all. Maybe we can get fluids by bulk or something.

The timing belt, believe it or not, doesn't look that hard compared to other cars. Aside from having two heads, (which is not the same as having head twice), everything is accessible, unlike Mitsu and Honda. I'd be willing to schedule a wrench session if anyone is so inclined to try their own timing belt.

Clutch change--now that's a different story. I'm too old to climb under the car for that long for that stuffs.
