Mike, I must say the one thing I agree with the naysayers is that the center console plastic wood inserts sure look out of place and kind of stupid. Other than that, I am still a big fan. What they hell were they thinking with that fake wood, though?

It looks like the same faux wood in the 07/08 Legacy but the taupe in mine has a brown wood vs. the red...

The taupe is almost white isn't it? My buddy has an 08 Impreza black w/the taupe and I can't get over how light the interior color is. I would definatly go black after battling my taupe that looks like dark brown compared to that!

Great looking little SUV though it will do well for them...

Yeah I am not a huge fan of the light wood in my legacy - kind of out of place. I am not a huge fan of wood in sporty cars regardless - aluminum would have been better! And also, I have the taupe interior as well and it gets dirty very easily. My next interior will be black regardless of what car I buy.

This could be a Forester me thinks.

December 19, 2007 – Torrance, CA - Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., will stage the world premiere of the all-new 2009 Toyota Venza crossover sedan at a press conference at the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Venza will be a unique blend of sedan and sport utility vehicle, offering seating for five, easy ingress and egress, a car-like ride and functional utility. Venza was designed and engineered in the United States and will be assembled at Toyota's manufacturing plant in Georgetown, Kentucky.

The press conference will be held on Monday, January 14 at 10:50 AM Eastern Time in the Riverview Ballroom at COBO Center and simulcast live to the Toyota display area at the show. A video clip of the press conference will be available for viewing following the event on the Toyota.com website.

That isnt' a forester.

That is a jacked up camry.

I have no idea where Toyota thinks those buyers are going to come from, considering the way the Outback sedan didn't.

morons. try building a real car, instead of re-hashing bad guesses on products that don't sell well. Maybe try to get your normal products that don't sell well to actually do better.

This whole "next best thing" thing is a two-edged sword. Without it, you get very boring and redundant. If you take stabs in the dark at it, you waste development resources that should be used better.

Why does every car company need to have 10 different varieties of crossovers and SUVs? I thought that this was what the Highlander and Rav4 are for. The release said this was designed and engineered in the US - isnt the design work on the fartster done in the land of the rising sun?
