JSaladino
So folks with the ACT LW FW setups, do you find any extra difficulties in launching the car? not sure yet, but i'll definitely post up the results after christmas. (going to speedworld in orlando while i'm down there)
Infamous1
Well my Clutch and FW are on their way already, it dawned on me later the added weight of the WRX flywheel would of been better for ease of lauching. Oh well I figure just it will takes some time...
JSaladino
hmm, i dont know. i think it'll probably just take some practice, as with anything. that ACT streetlite FW definitely isnt as bad as everyone makes it out to be tho. i've had mine in for over a month now, and i actually like it quite a bit. Infamous1
Thats what I figured at almost 14lbs it can't be too bad and everything after engagement will be all fun.
JSaladino
haha, ohhh it is, let me tell you! now all i have to do is get some springs to get rid of the squat and some sways to take out some of the body roll... always something
bosco
my ACT/WRX clutch combo is now complete will schedule the install soon. here are some pics. everything fits together properly on the bench now comes the real test. there is no spacer on the fw or pp that i can see like Han's said it must be on the ACT fw only. any last minute tips or things to watch out for? btw the ship weight on the fw was 24#. bosco Stay Stock Stay Happy

bosco
I weighted my flywheel at work...pretty sure she weighed in at 24lbs. you are correct 24# btw this stuff look like what you received? i know i have asked alot of questions but in the many years of aftermarket parts which don't work like advertised i am overly cautious. bosco Stay Stock Stay Happy
HansGT
^ I didn't see the clutch kit as the installer supplied it. The flywheel looks the same.

HansGT
^ i hung with a turbo'd integra gsr (95-97) with my slipping clutch and slow rolling launch. actually started pulling on him in the top of third.
JSaladino
wow... i got beat by a chevy blazer with some mammoth v8 in it with my slipping clutch.... then again, he was running 8.9 in the 1/8th, and that was what my first run was with stock clutch (before it decided to start slipping really bad)
Infamous1
^^^ I seen an old late 70's early 80's Chevy Suburban running high 11's in the 1/4 mile shutting off at 3/4 track. And it looked as ugly as it sounds.

JSaladino
that one was of the mid 90s variety... and if i was going to get an SUV it'd be the jeep srt 8, and then go for the hennessey TT upgrade

bosco
23.8 lbs so now the 06 WRX fw is 1/4" smaller than my stock LGT fw? how does the starter engage now with a smaller wheel? when will this end? btw here is the description for the clutch kit i just received from RallySport ACT Street Clutch Kit 06 WRX/05+ Legacy GT SB5-HDMM i bench fit the complete kit to the WRX fw and it looks good to me almost like it was made for it. will let you boys know the outcome i'm calling my guy in the morning to setup appointment. bosco Stay Stock Stay Happy
LittleBlueGT
so now the 06 WRX fw is 1/4" smaller than my stock LGT fw? how does the starter engage now with a smaller wheel? when will this end? Yes it is. That is why you need the whole kit (fly, PP, disc) and you can't match & match 06 rex type pieces with LGT pieces. All or nothing!
