Infamous1
Hey I was on a "closed course" last night and hit the soft limiter. It was followed by a slight audible alert for a bout 10 secs getting queiter as the speed lowered. Did this twice, anyone else experience this? dr. pepper
never had the chance to reach the limiter, no "tracks" around here with enough space. Sounds like something SOA would do once you reach the limiter though.
SLegacy99
As I can recall when I was on a "track" in my '96 it just crapped out at 115, without any alert. When I was on the same "track" with the '99 I found out that it goes until it hits the plastic rim of the speedo. I laughed.
Hotrodder00
My Spec B hit 137, no audible alert . . . just felt like I ran over something and the car immediately lost ~3-4 mph. Per both techs I talked to at the Suby dealer, this cannot be removed (they are friends that work for Subaru, not just employees with an opinion!). dr. pepper
a little thing called the accessport will remove that pesky speed limiter last time I checked.
Scotty
AP doesn't "remove" the speed limiter. It just resets the speed to .7 Mach.
mickeyd2005
Any tuner can change it using Protuner, Streettuner, Enginuity, or even Ecuflash.

Don't bet me. No need.
Hotrodder00
I think it would have kept accelerating until I ran out of road . . . . it wasn't ready to stop at 137, and it's completely stock right now!
edmundu
Yeap, stock LGt's should be good for mid 140's ungoverned. Stg1/2 about 10-12mph more, and it goes up from there alot with bigger turbo's;)...
rc0032
Why do you need to go that fast

Infamous1
Why are there always cops on my closed, private "track"? On the wrong tracks/courses mine are open at 2am. Anyone else heard this alert/slight buzz?
automaticsti
what does the LGT top out at? About 150ish.............."closed track experience"
rabydanimal
Never had a noise in my Rex and I could bury the needle at 6 o'clock. My LGT feels unstable at 125 and above. Also, not quite the young ricer I used to be. I've never hit the rev limiter in my baby, let alone from maxing out 5th gear. Although everyone who drives my car does ("whoa, that comes up fast!"). tractorcrusher
What the heck is the '07 Spec B governor at? I was told 135mph when I bought it, but I just took it to 145mph...
tractorcrusher
There are certain advantages of Texas being so very flat, but never get over confident and never outdrive your line of sight.
qikslvr
I've pegged mine up to 140 on a straight section of track when it was stock and it just felt like vapor lock for a split second. If you hit the fuel cut off hard you can get that extra couple MPH. Mine feels smooth as glass up there. I haven't been back to that track since I went stage2+ but I think my map will allow for 170MPH although I don't think you can get there from here. What is the theoretical top speed for our gear sets @redline in 5th? Let's kick this pig!
Impulse
i think someone took it to ~174 at 7.2k or something?

scottybuckeye
The highest I could get mine was 137mph stock, 145mph stg2. How could you get it to 170mph w/o a new turbo?
tractorcrusher
My 6-speed felt like it'd hit redline around 165mph... So I could see 170 being possible.
Canon20D
dont we know gear ratios and red lines and tire dia.? its all math from there.. (theoretically)

Okay yeah, I could see that speed w/ a 6speed. Didn't think about that. If 170 is possible w/ a non-specB stock turbo, then there's something I'm missing.
