coxx
I have those bulbs too. I got em from RPM. They look awesome. No color to em at all when they're off "Barack Obama, mothaf#%@a! Barack Obama! I'm the president...of hittin' the ass!" -this is not a political view it's merely a quote from a hilarious tv show.

FLASHMSTRC
You guys are killing me....You clear your headlights and then leave the plain orange bulb in...what's the point? Buy some Sylvania Superstars!
RobE
Buy some Sylvania Superstars! IMHO the Silverstars look ugly on SWP. \/ \/ \/ My car. http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p29/rce2585/IMG_1791.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p29/rce2585/IMG_1792.jpg http://newenglandsubarus.com/

TravisS
I like stock too. Gives a very mild orange color without the overbearing reflectors.
TSiWRX
^ Although I'm using the SilverStar bulbs, which gives the area a bit of an "ion" rainbow, I can definitely see why some prefer the "slightly orange" look of using the normal amber bulbs - and also, one should remember that technically, removing the reflectors *is* illegal, and retaining the amber bulb, thanks to the reflector design (as well as the clear acrylic "bar" that spans the outer corners of our headlamps), will give the appearance of having the proper amber/yellow at the front corners upon cursory inspection. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
FLASHMSTRC
What is so illegal about removing the reflector? I've never heard that...is that just in some states or nationwide?
TSiWRX
^ By-Hoyle, it's a DOT requirement, so it's "nationwide." However, whether or not your locals choose to enforce it - and if they do, then how severely/strictly they may enforce it - can vary tremendously. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family

Not all cars have reflectors in the headlights. Some have em on the bumper somewhere or something so the cops rarely notice it. "Barack Obama, mothaf#%@a! Barack Obama! fonts
Shouldn't be an issue with either stock amber bulbs or the silverstars. Both light and flash amber as is required by law. If you cleared and replaced with clear bulbs then there is an issue that I'm sure would draw attention from cops.
TravisS
Except that the color of the flash has nothing to do with the reflectors. Two separate things.

violhence
I heard something about putting the lights to bake in the oven at around either 320 or 400 as part of this process instead of using the heatgun. What was that all about? I know someone wrote it up I just can not remember if it was as part of this post
Guest Gitster
Haha. 400 is pretty high. You might want to read the OP ;)

Only problem i had was getting the poppits in and out! I swear the older they get the less they want to work! Hey all - i went totally ghetto to get my stockers not to show up. goBlue
What is so illegal about removing the reflector? I've never heard that...is that just in some states or nationwide? there's a reason why JDM version doesn't have the orange reflectors and the USDM one does. North American regulations also require amber front and red rear side-facing retroreflectors. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automotive_lighting#Retroreflectors it's technically illegal to "clear" the headlights. whobaru
A reflector is a requirement. What we have going for us is that our car is new enough that cops may not be sure enough to pull us over. Some new cars hide the reflector in interesting places. If a cop reeeeaaally wants to, he will pull you over.
