8-02GT
sure is! I have one of there XC bikes. it's been a good bike; Jamis has great customer service. i've broke two of their frames and they've been very prompt at sending me a replacement. that's good to know I just bought that bike, and can't wait to ride! mattg
North Fork trail. This is Tumalo Falls. The largest and most famous falls of the 7 on this section of trail. http://photos.imageevent.com/mattg/avatars/websize/6.jpghttp://photos.imageevent.com/mattg/avatars/websize/5_1.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/mattg/avatars/websize/4_1.jpg before the descent http://photos.imageevent.com/mattg/avatars/websize/2_2.jpg Log feature on one of the newest and best sections of trail we have. This is off of Funner trail, which features tons of jumps, berms, rock drops etc... This log is ~ 100' long then it drops off to a nice sloping transition. Around a 6-8' drop depending on how fast you hit it. The drop is a piece of cake if you can ride the log the whole way. http://photos.imageevent.com/mattg/avatars/websize/Photo_103009_002_1.jpg Rock drop on Funner http://photos.imageevent.com/mattg/avatars/websize/Photo_110209_003.jpg Multi route log ride on Funner http://photos.imageevent.com/mattg/avatars/websize/Photo_110209_004.jpg
Abandonhope16
i finished my first full season of cyclocross and I'm hooked hard. I still love doing the solo 12 hour and 100 mile, and short mtb races but my passion is cross now. anyone who knows cross you'll notice in the pic I dismount on the drive side. not sure why, but I'm more comfortable doing it this way. Awesome. I really want to get a cross bike for commuting. Right now I only have the mtb and I put city tires on it. I dont think a road bike could handle some of my commute and a cross would probably be perfect. Probably shave some time of the ride, I feel the mtb just lumbers along. c-lo
you'd love a cross bike. sure you could put some skinnies on your MTB and be fine, but if you can get one than do it! I have Ritchie speedmax tires on mine and love them. use them on the road, gravel and in races. now in muddier conditions I'll probably want a better tire but the Ritchies are good all around tires. 258k miles - Stock engine/minor suspension upgrades/original shocks/rear struts replaced at 222k/4 passenger side wheel bearings/3 clutches/1 radiator/3 turbos

sactojesse
Any downhillers/freeriders out there? I'm more of an all-mountain rider, but I dabble a bit in DH/FR. Here's a shot of me off a rock drop at Amasa Back in Moab. Maybe once I get a designated commuter and can covert my mtb back to an mtb, we can go ride together. I havent hit any trails in a while and when I did, I was always solo. dubunderpar
No riding for me until no snow here. And I am tired of hearing people say "just go anyway", because if you can't even walk around comfortably in 0* weather, you sure as hell aren't riding. 987687
I won't ride my bike in 0° weather. I'll put on a pair of cross country skiis, but hell no I'm not riding. brr.

CDN 2.5i
anyone who knows cross you'll notice in the pic I dismount on the drive side. not sure why, but I'm more comfortable doing it this way. You may find it to be more of an issue when there's more traffic... coming in to a barrier and everyone dismounts/mounts on the non-drive side - if you swing over to the other side, it can definitely be a problem. Not sure if you have experienced it yet or not. Non-issue if there's not a lot of people.

Not sure if you have experienced it yet or not. Non-issue if there's not a lot of people. I've been warned. luckily for me this has not been an issue yet. under 12 races under my belt so far. going to work on it this spring and summer. However I'm not going to force the training. If I can't correct it i won't. I can dismount great. my remounts from the non drive side or just plain horrible. haven't been able to narrow down why yet. I also have a skip before I remount to get rid of. while on the topic though, check out this dude, he's on a fixie: Cyclocross Fixie on Vimeo 258k miles - Stock engine/minor suspension upgrades/original shocks/rear struts replaced at 222k/4 passenger side wheel bearings/3 clutches/1 radiator/3 turbos

CDN 2.5i
If you've got the skip, you'll have to (re)learn your mounts to a degree anyhow - just work on the other side My wife had the skip - it's often a hesitation or a reluctance to commit to the jump back on... just need to commit and JUMP back on The other factor is you can use your front brake if you need to with your right hand on the frame. c-lo
It's weird.....remounting from the non drive side my right leg does not get over the saddle smoothly; almost like it's a flexibility issue. However, i'm pretty flexible so don't know if this is the issue. you are right though, the skip is most likely a fear of mashing my nuts on the saddle:lol:. this even though I've been able to do it correctly in the past. will just take some practice. I've got plans to dominate the world of cross next season;) and part of my training will involve working with these guys to some capacity: http://www.kelleyacres.net/whatweoffer.html 258k miles - Stock engine/minor suspension upgrades/original shocks/rear struts replaced at 222k/4 passenger side wheel bearings/3 clutches/1 radiator/3 turbos

StoplightAssassin
bump it up I've been getting really fat lately and haven't been playing basketball as much as I used to b/c of my knee. I picked up this 2010 Fisher Wahoo about a month ago and have been getting some riding in. I mostly ride on the road right now so I'm probably going to put some more road appropriate tires on it. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs069.ash2/36789_626284055027_45600490_35468700_5661098_n.jpg
Abandonhope16
Nice!!! I've always really liked the Wahoo. I picked up a new ride a few months ago as a commuter; actually named after a relative of mine that I discovered after digging into my family history a bit http://s919.photobucket.com/albums/ad34/abandonhope16/BottSide-1.jpg http://s919.photobucket.com/albums/ad34/abandonhope16/BottClose-1.jpg
