SubLo
I'm glad you guys all like your grill mods. To each his own. But, I have to say I've seen a lot of the mod'ed/aftermarket grills on this site and the OEM grill just flat out looks best. ________________________________________________ '05 BSM OBXT Row-your-own, W.I.P. '06 Shrek B # 64 - The car the wife loved to hate :( Sold...
PGT
better than this? http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y124/PatagonianGT/DSC00356.jpg The stock grille looks like a '99 Acura TL. I have proof!!! http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y124/PatagonianGT/DSCN3229.jpg
ih8vtec13
The stcok grill looks like a lot of cars, its styling is pretty dated, I think that they could have done something better for a stock grill. If you like it then hey Subaru did the job right, for you anyway.
PhilT
The stock grill sucks !! Even the salesmen at my local dealer admit that my RBS grill looks like it should have been on the car from the beginning. Double Award Winning Legacy GT Wagon
MIKEBRAVO
The stock is ok, but I tend to agree with PatagoniaGT. The stockgrill looks like an Acura and is a hassle to keep clean. The only modification with PatagoniaGT's grill I would make, would be the Subaru logo in the middle. . CLean is best! If you can afford College, you probably don't need to go. SubLo
better than this? Yep IMO. Your car looks really hot though. I just think some things the factory does are just right on and are left well enough alone. As an off-topic example, look at Jay Leno's '55 Buick remodel. Looks stock to the average person but sooooo much better. ________________________________________________ '05 BSM OBXT Row-your-own, W.I.P. '06 Shrek B # 64 - The car the wife loved to hate :( Sold...
PGT
well, it bugged me that my car looked like my neighbor's TL and the Ford Taurus across the street. My grille looks factory because it is factory.
Gire
RBS grille was my first aftermarket purchase for the car, IIRC. Rommel
Aftermarket grille is good to differentiate the Legacy from Taurus, Altima, Malibu. The rear of the sedan is bad enough to be mistaken as a Camry .

Underdog
^ I'm digging the body matched 'wings'... Are there any threads dedicated to paint mis-matching? I tried searching but found nothing except Leonardo's thread on the cf hood. I'd love to see a chopped OBP with the (stock or RBS) grille surround and/or hood scoop insert painted GRP. Please????? While you're at it, throw a jdm bumper set on there too... The Crimson Dynamo

OCDetails
I'll agree that on some cars I have seen some pretty smooth looking grilles, but I don't hate mine badly enough to spend the money or the effort in changing it just yet. It is on the list of things to do, but it isn't so hideous that I lose sleep over it. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S . CasopoliS
Yea I would like to see pics with the chrome surround painted, the chrome wings painted, either, or both. I have contemplated keeping the surround chrome and just painting the wings. ABP wings with a pink stars badge. FTW? I don't know if I want it completely open there. I like the look in all the pictures, but up close I think completely open is not what I am looking for. But I agree... something needs to change so I don't look like a Taurus, Camry, Acura, etc. I want to be different.
TRS
Here are some of mine with the surround left chrome and the wings painted to match the dark grey metalic of the rest of the grill: http://legacygt.com/forums/vbpgimage.php?do=full&p=1043 http://legacygt.com/forums/vbpgimage.php?do=full&p=1418 http://legacygt.com/forums/vbpgimage.php?do=full&p=1181
CasopoliS
That looks good, but I dont know how that would look on ABP. I think it would look good if it was painted the color of the car - for lighter colored cars. For dark cars, the gray works very well. What spray paint matches again? I forget. I will search. But post here if you know it off the top of your head.
