What did you do to your 4th gen. Legacy today? Vol - 10

It's so worth it, they have some great sales as well. It just took about 3 weeks longer to get here than was the original delivery date.

They do not send with tracking numbers! It's done that way for cost savings. The customer service is top notch though and they reply to emails quickly.

Finally got into some shop stuff - getting closer to set up. Finally have our old Sears Auto lift set up. Name brand (Rotary), but pretty old. FXT on the lift belongs to my friend Barge (on NASIOC), and is a pretty crazy track build. Pretty much everything on that car is fabricated in-house by him.

Routed my IAG oil lines upside down when I put the car together in order to not have to cut down the tab on the back of the B25 heads, and because my kit didn't come with a thick washer. This made the outer up-pipe support bracket uninstallable. Instead of fixing the oil line routing, dum dum made a new bracket out of old Chevy toe adjustment plates that were sitting around, because that's what welders are for?

Oh, and, one of my friends who's going in on the shop is about to do something terrible to this VW 1.8T out of his recently acquired Audi TT, and I can't wait to see how big the holes in the hood end up being.

Well, I've actually still have been productive. Cleaned out the garage today and filled my garbage bin that'll be picked up this week. Sorted out a ton of parts from swaps that are now for sale locally, and I got a buyer for the spec b oem suspension in minutes. I blacked out the grill on the B and have primed and painted the front lip tysparks81 gave me, it's now a satin black and should look great on the car, hopefully installation happens tomorrow.

I built a list for the spec B on what needs doing/done, I may just do a log on here as well

Decided last weekend to get off my butt and do a little work on the front LCA bushings and rear struts. I'm planning on doing the ball joints next weekend. It's looking like I should start shopping for springs since she's sitting a little funny now.

Haven't been on here in a long time...

Took the spec B out for the first time in months, haven't driven it much since I got the S4.

I gotta say the spec B might be more fun to drive, you can really feel the weight difference between the two.

It definitely cant compete in a straight line though lol

My son has a 12 S4, nice cars. I guess the 2016's or so with softwear can run 11's ? He's looking to trade up...

Control Arms today and found out my “stock” suspension is actually all Whiteline!

Those sway bar end links look identical to the Kartboy end links that I have here and yet to install.

4thGen, not sure why my browser does not quote anything right now, but did your "stock" suspension have Whiteline ball joints too? Typically tie rods and ball joints are installed as a package for lowered LGTs, hence my question. based in picture I believe you have stock ball joints now, which is fine for stock springs/shocks but not if you have aftermarket lowered suspension.

Lost power at the end of the day to strong winds in the area, and it was still lit outside and my car was in dry garage. Grabbed couple of lights, bluetooth speaker, put some old rockers on and went to change gas pedal I've been having troubles with. Also put on rubber cover for clutch pedal that wore off last winter.

It was extra fun with music playing and my little daughter playing in the cargo area - I put down rear seat backs and she was camping there. asking billion questions about what this and that does in the car. Good times.

I am going to keep the old pedal for a little bit until I feel sure new ones cures the issue of car going in limp mode.

On the bad news found excessive amount of white dust collecting on battery holder - as to be acid from the battery. What may cause that? Never had any issues with electric system on this car, is that sign of overcharging?

Yes! I was unaware of this as the previous owner of the car said it only had coilovers, turns out it actually has whiteline anti sway bars, urethane bushings, mounting brackets, outer tie rods, ball joints, and Kartboy endlinks. Had I known this before hand I would have rented a pickle fork to swap the ball joint over to the new control arm but I guess that gives me a project for next week!

Tein coilovers for sure I have ran them on all my cars. I love them. I throw the on the car and leave a tad bit of gap and love the ride.

I’ve had good and bad experience with teins in the past, they are good on this car but we’re god awful on my old turbo MR2, if I could get a good set of Bilsteins or Stasis Ohlins I’d be very happy but out of the price range for now.

On the plus side, I installed a set of Delta Motorworks 5sp shifter/linkage/pivot bushings and I'm really enjoying how smooth and clean the shifting is. I had newer bushings it in, but I wanted to see how good could it get with a 5sp. It didn't really tighten it up beyond my previous TiC linkage/bushings, but the shifting is definitely cleaner. Shifting is one of my favorite things to do when I drive, so it's worth it to me to put money into that aspect. Highly recommend if you have the budget to do it.

Been trying to find upgrades so that I have something to look forward to in a month or so after school finishes for the semester. I'm trying to find a setup of Bilstein coilovers for my wagon and had found two different sets, but so far haven't been able to purchase either as when I'm ready to send money the sellers have gone cold. Haven't heard from one for 3wks and the other for a week and a half. There is a lot of crap going on in people's lives right now, so I'm just trying to be patient...

Not that I really have a big budget right now, but I really have the itch to improve something.

How much more vibration/nvh with the solid joints?

Nothing noticeable to me.

Granted I already have most of the other things you do that could add NVH (solid/filled/poly bushings), so I may have already peaked what I introduce.

Hey gang,

I rediscovered this video that I last saw a few years ago...It is BP5 Wagon porn!

Also call me late to the game but just discovered valleylegacy whole build thread, and now it has me wanting for more stuff that I totally (do not) need. That is now book marked with Chocoholic005 wagon build and 05MNLGT S402 replica. If there are any other killer wagon builds you might recommend to motivate and inspire me as I build my own wagon, please let me know!!

This all and more keeps me distracted/day dreaming during work. Thank you!

Edit: There are definitely more of you I'd want to mention besides these three people that are unbelievably helpful and have great write ups, knowledge, and contributions but they just don't necessarily have full car build threads (that I know of). And yes I am bias to the Wagoons even though many of you weird sedan people have great builds and information.

How long did it take to install these? I will get these once my car gets back.

Maybe a couple hours.

I put it up on jack stands and went to work.

Depends if you have done it before (that'll make it faster)

The toughest part is punching the pins out for the linkage in my experience.

I would have been done an hour less if I didn't have a mushroomed pin that I had to grind down.

Having the right wrenches and punch sizes makes all the difference.

What other shift linkage parts do you have? Did you need any additional parts to purchase to install the Delta Motorworks part?

I currently have all kartboy bushings for shift linkage and all tic inserts for the shift linkage. It's a pretty solid setup but I wouldn't complain if it was better. My brother's '07 Mustang GT Hurst setup feels much better than my car but it's most likely design.

Yeah those Hurst shifters have been around for many years, my 1970 Duster 340 came with a Competition Plus, in 1974 I put a Super Shifter in it. Very short throw.
