Rhitter's Build Thread

I had some rubbing in the rears (plus, I assume I will have more because I want to get rid of some negative camber).

Red circle is where the tiny bit of rubbing was:

rolled and pulled. Also using doubled sided tape to hold the fender liner on.

sorry, I was on vacation, it looks like you found the area that was rubbing. I have cut "a lot" that I am not sure the pictures even make sense anymore. I just kept looking (and caught chalk) for areas that looked like they had rubbed and then trimmed them.

Replaced both radiator tanks with the correct new caps.

Added KTA124 arms (pain in the ass). Frozen / stuck bolt. Had to drill through it to relieve pressure.

I was still getting rubbing on my rear fender liners. Added a 5mm spacer. Probably should add extended lugs because of that. Recommendation is 6-8 turns. I think I just have 6 or slightly less.

And got an alignment.

These feel like really good quality spacers and cheap enough. They also have a chamfer on the hub side (well I placed it on the hub side) incase anything near the hub got in the way and prevents it from sitting flat. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N7DWKEX/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Alignment specs. They weren't able to give me as much caster as I had hoped for. But I finally have more front camber than rear camber and the car feels great.

Finally washed it

So nice.. Found a guy out in Ceres (Baesic Garage - sic) that says he'll do a roll for $30/fender, pull for $40/fender + $40 to travel 1-2 hours.. So, max $200 for pulling all four fenders.

Wonder if that would let me put 245/255s onto my Rotas?

I would stick with 245/35/18 or 245/40/17. 255s are really wide. There just isn't that much inside clearance on the rear of the wagons.

Franz has 245/40/17 with a roll (can't remember if there is a pull - if so it's slight). And it seems to fit with no drama. I say go for it.

I went with Rota D-Force 18x8.5 & Sumitomo HTR Z III 245/45ZR18s...soon to be lowered on spec Bs

Rhitter, are you ever driving through Cupertino? I swear I saw your car drive past me last year by De Anza College, and I’ve been thinking about it ever since! I was remembering it today and decided to look up XT builds, and I found your car... if it’s not you, someone else in the Bay has a car just like yours. Either way, amazing build thread!

Sweet bugeye! I just got an 03 wrx wagon a few weeks back. Question for you, how the hell do you guys pass CA smog with all the exhaust and engine mods you guys have?

Thanks! It’s all about finding a smog shop that is a little forgiving on the visual inspection. My bugeye passed visual but didn’t have the Evap and O2 sensor set to “ready” so I failed the OBD2 test. Under the hood, my OBXT looks a lot more stock/stealth than my bugeye.

Craptastic picture - but painted my headlights. Still need to sand them again and see how much of the yellowing I can remove. Also removed my yellow overlays on my fog covers.

Installed KSRL-29 and a half inch spacer. To get me half an inch lower than KSRS-29s. They handle junk in the trunk a lot better than Pinks.

Installed a homelink mirror and can't figure out how to program it to my garage without the remote (which is lost somewhere)

Need to search in the steering column to unplug the steering angle sensor to truly defeat traction control because of my STI steering rack / VDC fun.
