Rhitter
Mine were yellow lamin-x film that I had applied years ago. Just took a heat gun to them and pulled them off. Used goo-gone and heat to remove the left-over glue. I am going to put clear ones back on. My fogs on my Honda Fit are all cracked to hell from being so close to the road. Rhitter
I think the real way is you use an Arduino to upscale the signal so the steering angle communicates the expected value. Unless Subaru was somehow able / willing to flash STI values in somewhere. I am just looking at completely disabling it, by pulling the steering angle plug, so that I don't randomly get VDC to kick-in even after I have turned TC off. E46erak
Installed KSRL-29 and a half inch spacer. To get me half an inch lower than KSRS-29s. They handle junk in the trunk a lot better than Pinks. Any chance at a side-profile shot??
Rhitter
Any chance at a side-profile shot?? They look the same as the Pinks side profile shot. I had 1.5 inches of spacer in with the Pinks and based on my experience the KSR springs are good for 1 inch. So I removed the 1 inch spacer and left the .5 inch one on. Literally no difference in look. My OBXT build
Rhitter
Rhitter, are you ever driving through Cupertino? I swear I saw your car drive past me last year by De Anza College, and I’ve been thinking about it ever since! I was remembering it today and decided to look up XT builds, and I found your car... if it’s not you, someone else in the Bay has a car just like yours. Either way, amazing build thread! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Nope, wasn't me. I am almost never on the side of the Bay / off the 101. I think I know who you saw, forgot his name. He is more active in the Bay area Subaru (or whatever it's called) Facebook group. hmm but his is black. willmonts
What is your rear hub to fender measurement with the KSRL-29 and the spacer? Do you know what it was with KSRS-29 and whatever spacers you were using? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rhitter
I hope you can figure it out so I can add this too. Newest thought is, if you can replace the steering angle sensor with a 2015+ WRX sti sensor it should all work. The sensor is $300(ish) though. I need to figure out if it would fit and see if I can find a used one. Alternatively you just unplug it and get it disables VDC and Traction control and works fine. VDC has helped me once on a mountain road when I was being an idiot. Edited April 6, 2018 by Rhitter My OBXT build
Flinkly
doesn't disabling VDC also disable ABS? that's always been my main concern with the current status of the swap. * Build Thread * 26.53 MPG - 12 month Average *
Rhitter
Only if you pull the fuse. If you disconnect the steering angle sensor it just disables VDC and TC and leaves ABS and EBDC alone. xt2005bonbon
Rhitter, how much stuff have you been able to fit in your skybox? I don't know if I asked you before, but do you think this duffel bag would fit? I am concerned about the height. How about your bike trailer? have you been able to fit it? https://www.rei.com/product/765740/mountain-hardwear-expedition-duffel-medium
Rhitter
26x14x14 should fit. Bike trailer won't fit (too wide I think). Bob jogging stroller fits (with wheels off) It's reasonable space, but it's not that large. Basically I can fit the same amount of stuff in the trunk as the Skybox, just can be longer. xt2005bonbon
oh wow. So even with the wheel off, your bike trailer won't fit huh. Kinna sucks. So I guess if my bike trailer fits no problem in my trunk (with the wheels off), it should fit in that box then.. I need to go measure it.
jonnyt88
sorry, I was on vacation, it looks like you found the area that was rubbing. I have cut "a lot" that I am not sure the pictures even make sense anymore. I just kept looking (and caught chalk) for areas that looked like they had rubbed and then trimmed them. http://i.imgur.com/emczWvT.jpg What % tint are you running Rhitter? Rhitter
What % tint are you running Rhitter? "medium" I know that's super unhelpful guy that did it 7 years ago just had three levels. Light, medium, dark. My OBXT build
WRX USA
3. Cut the OEM underguard so that I get fender water / dust protection again. 1. Cut my OEM undertray so that it fits with my Primitive skidplate. My original plan was to rivet the plastic piece on. However, after wrestling with it to get it in place, I am not sure I will be doing that. Much easier to put the plastic piece on then bolt the Primitive plate in place. http://i.imgur.com/hujyUDc.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Bmepafy.jpg http://i.imgur.com/fBqrbXr.jpg In hindsight, would you have cut this any differently or are you happy with it? Rhitter
Very happy. It works Really well. Easy to remove just the center for oil changes and keeps the engine bay clean. I guess I could have left a little more on. But happy with it. Edited May 19, 2018 by Rhitter My OBXT build

VDC has helped me once on a mountain road when I was being an idiot. I saw one of these being sold on eBay by someone that claims to be a Subaru Mastertech and asked him if this would resolve the VDC issues. His response: no it is not compatible , the steering angle sensor is a high speed can system input to the VDC system , controlled by the ABSHCU , all the cars this would fit have electric power steering , your 2009 XT technology is 2005-2009 , a few generations removed
Rhitter
Was it that specific steering angle sensor? That doesn't make sense to me because the 2015+ WRX STI has a hydraulic steering rack, not electronic. Were you looking at the 2015+ WRX steering angle sensor and not the STI? I wonder if it's just an expensive way of making sure the system never does anything? Because now that I think about it there is some difference to how the WRX STIs account for wheel speed, etc when compared to the Legacy's. The best way is probably the Arduino controller to "scale" the steering angle sensor My OBXT build

Rhitter
Crosstrek 2015-17 Forester 2016-18 Impreza 2015-18 STI 2015-18 WRX 2015-18 I think that about solves it. Replacing this wouldn't make a difference. It fits a vareity of cars with different steering ratios. You would probably need the ABSHCU from an STI? Gabo
http://i.imgur.com/06vo0Pt.jpg ] Any reason your LCA bushings are adjusted for no caster gain? Which way are they suppose to point if adding caster? I'll be installing "new" lower control arms with upgraded bushings in a few weeks and want to make sure I get them oriented in the right direction. I'll be installing "new" lower control arms with upgraded bushings in a few weeks and want to make sure I get them oriented in the right direction. You want the back of the arm to stick out towards the outside of the car. For that to happen with this arm design, you have to increase the distance between the mount stud and the center point of the arm. Thus you need to rotate the cam, so that the thinner part faces towards the center of the car. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK
