Thomistopheles
If you apply enough heat and violent persuasion to an ebay S204 lip, it'll fit. Kinda. http://i489.photobucket.com/albums/rr260/TurboThom/20160602_230955_zpsttvcleyi.jpg 240 miles so far, can't wait til we can start feeding it boost. Runs and drives smoother than I thought possible... other than the ACT Xtreme Duty 6 puck being like playing footsie with a bear I'll get used to it quick though. Exhaust hasn't been tucked up, but the giant HKS mufflers haven't scraped with the smaller tires on it. Y pipe is pretty low though. We'll tuck those up later, I need to do a bunch of other stuff before it goes any lower anyway... like the rear upper control arms so I'm not 1/4" off the bump stops anymore OH, and I messed up the last gel coat on my grille... because I was tired, and tired Thom apparently cannot do math. Not enough hardener, hasn't cured after a few days so it's going on the back burner until I figure out what I need to do with it. Based on information I was given on grille compatibility, I've ordered something tasty from Japanland. Hopefully it arrives swiftly and fits... if it doesn't, I'll have to drill a hole in it and enjoy my new 41,143¥ incense burner.

rebourne
The lower aspect ratio tires really make a huge visual difference. I like it especially with the polished lip/black mesh combo. Really balanced. The lip is a great addition. And from the last two camera angles, I don't miss the grill at all! pic thread build thread
Thomistopheles
I agree, massive change just from the shorter tires. Now if only I could find a buyer around here for the old 245/45s http://i489.photobucket.com/albums/rr260/TurboThom/20160606_002638_zpssp3s3vy4.jpg Whiteline LCAs were a bitch and a half to install. The stock ones did not play nice coming out, there was a couple hours of swearing and lots of oxy acetylene torch use involved. Replacing the uppers was easy since they were out not long ago for the camber bushings. We did a quick alignment so I could keep packing on those break in miles, up to 490 now so it's off for an oil change in the morning.
Thomistopheles
800 miles, so close to boost... I picked up a non-turbo legacy hood, managed to find an aluminum one too. That should head off for paint Friday evening. A couple fresh photos from a meet I set up at the local ramen house: http://i489.photobucket.com/albums/rr260/TurboThom/A24E3050-Edit_zpsiubakwap.jpg http://i489.photobucket.com/albums/rr260/TurboThom/A24E3052-Edit_zpshp0bwy1r.jpg
rebourne
What's the camber in these pics? It looks nearly equal F to R, with a hair more camber in the rear. In a good way. pic thread build thread

subysouth
The ride quality has convinced a few locals to ditch their BC coils for ISCs. I don't think ISC has an outback version with longer bodies... so you're stuck with a maximum of a little lower than LGT height. You know I argued a bit with the guy from the vendor I bought my ISC N1s about this. They were advertised for the OB at stock height down to -2" IIRC. I did not think then and I know now, no where near stock height is possible with the rear lower cups I had included with my kit. I thought that lower was going to be where I wanted to be so I let it go. Time passes and and now I need a ride height between stock LGT and OB height and it is truly coming home to bite me. As near as I can tell the fronts have the room to get there but the rears are the problem. You will be way below stock ride height before you run out of thread engagement between the strut body and the lower rear cup. So that brings me to my question. I got what I believe to be the shallow cup. Full length of the lower cup itself is about 6 3/4". I believe there is a taller cup(and shorter for that matter) however and I am curious to see if anyone has ever gotten the taller rear cup? See the attached images for what I am on about. ss
subysouth
Here is the "tall" cup. I'm assuming the strut bodies are the same diameter, not sure on that but it is likely. ss
Thomistopheles
Ohhh man, I'm terrible at updating this. Shortly after Subaru Nationals, the car tried killing me by giving itself a variable rear toe mod... trailing arm bushing separated completely and the ass end came out at 70+ mph, sending me straight toward a concrete wall. Limped it over to a buddy's shop and threw it up on the alignment rack, found the trailing arm bushing. We checked over everything else while we were under there, and found that my driveshaft was ready to let go. Two U joints were busted apart, yokes were bent... and one of my motor mounts became a two piece design. Tires were trashed from the variable toe incident too, so much for my brand new continental extreme contact DWs... Took the rear apart and installed poly diff bushings, trailing arm bushings, and a custom driveshaft that can take the abuse I give this thing. Went with 245/40r18 BFG g force sport comp 2 tires, a bit wider than what was on there before. Threw new group N motor mounts in, we'll see if I need to go to solid mounts next year. This winter's projects include a DOM 3.5XTR turbo, radium double pump hanger with a couple 450s, and installing the oil cooler I've had sitting around for ages. When I get it tuned for that stuff in the spring I'll probably run it out to 7500, maybe 8000 rpm. Might as well start making use of those built heads even with the little 1.5XTR, power is still climbing when it hits 7000 Hanging out with a bunch of other 500hp+ locals for dinner: A24E3971 by Thom, on Flickr A24E3987 by Thom, on Flickr A24E4043 by Thom, on Flickr
