Matt166
No - how would I know how much beer I needed to buy!
rmoore5
I was thinking: pre-work beer qty = incorrectly assembled part - 1 beer So you are correct only after an test assembly would you know.
Matt166
Encountered the gorilla again on the lower shock bolts, had to stand on a breaker bar attached to the wheel wrench (no other sockets would fit due to the brake disk). Fitted my new rallitek overload springs paired with new KYB shocks. Also got the upper rear arms on, seems the marina mechanic earned his 12 pack of shipyard, pretty easy to get on once I jacket up the bottom of the hub. Its pretty strange how that arm sits as the inner and outer brackets dont really line up.

Matt166
Nice lookin' shocks ya got there. Thanks, They are actually shorter than stock when decompressed. Hoping they wont have too much rise to them once things are settled, they are pretty new product from what I understand.

Matt166
Ok, looking like the next couple of days should see some progress. Motor arrived yesterday, just waiting on a couple of extra gaskets and hoses from the dealer and then its time to get things moving. Before I go, this clamp was sitting on top of the engine when it came back from shipping - any idea where its from??

MTBwrench
I just pulled my motor yesterday, it's currently sitting on the stand with 90% of the ancillary stuff still attached. I'll run out to the garage and take a look! Matt166
Trying to get a full day in today, mixed in with some work errands. Installed the new tgv orings, I have absolutely no idea how people do these well with the engine in. wasn't too bad on the bench. I used a scalpel to pull the old ones out, and a 10mm wrench to help the old ones back in, put a ratchet in the middle to give me some clearance. I cleaned the surfaces with some petrol and some cue-tips.
Max Capacity
It really wasn't that hard, I had just pulled the tranny and did these while the car was in the air. That was back in 2010 or was it 2011... 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Matt166
Pretty sure its top to bottom and vice versa, there is one thread in particular on here that figured it out. Getting pretty close now, trying to align the new DP, turbo, and IC. Then its break in time.
Matt166
Another hurdle. Just installed the cobb catted dp, the 02 sensor must be in a different location as the wire will not reach. Whats the verdict on this, what have other people done? I dont really want to buy a new 02 sensor.

Sometimes you can remove the clips holding the o2 sensor wire harness to the engine/transmission and gain enough length.
