Definitely grateful to have met all you guys! A lot of warm welcomes as some of you passed by. Of course I'll have trouble with names but I can put faces to names now. Nice to see a good representation of of platform with a multitude of styles, I think we all gave them a good taste of 5thgen flare.

I'm glad i actually made it out for the Photos!! It was nice meeting everyone that was there, i wish i could have chatted more but we were SUPER busy at the ISC Suspension booth!!

Seeing those photos makes me realize that much more that i need to get rid of that chrome grille and window trim!!

Everyone's car looked killer!! I'm so happy there were so many 5th Gens there yesterday.

Cheers,

Tom

Aw man those pictures are great! Super bummed I missed that.

And Sm00veM00ve I most definitely caught your wave and threw you one back!

Ripstick -- how could anyone forget you! I went over to the track for a bit to check it out and I caught ya doing a run.

People in my group were confused why I was taking pictures of all of your cars -- until I had to explain to them what they were looking at

NICE! the LGT ran double duty yesterday after my buddy Blew something up in his WRX on the way there trying to maintain LGT highway speeds. I was the kid in blue

Had a great time today! Was able to chat with s2baru and DC_Titus -- both really chill and nice guys with killer cars. The weather was perfect -- had to take off though. Bummed about not being able to meet up afterwards for a photo. I tried to grab a quick pic of every 5th gen I saw (not s2baru and DC_Titus unfortunately).

So with the 6 in the photos below, plus s2baru and DC_Titus and me I think that makes 9 of us. Not bad!!

That was me in the SSM LGT, rode down with red50ford and tried to meet as many of you as possible but I had to bail early. Great show, looking forward to the next meet.

What are your travel plans for the return trip? Are you hanging out in the area for a few days or are you already driving back home?

Today I caught up on some sleep lol. We're going to the casino for a bit to bs and have some fun, although I don't gamble, then one of the guys here we're staying with is having a BBQ this evening.

Tomorrow morning we'll head down to Boston for a day or two then head back to Columbus for a day the trek over to St.Louis for Scoobapoolooza.

What are your Boston plans? I live 20 minutes away. I could meet up for lunch or grab some drinks in the evening or whatever. Not sure who else is around, but I'd love to check out your ride.

And I'm about 10min away from Boston... can't do anything during the day (stupid job), but might be able to do something in the evening (after 6pm)...

Pretty sure that is ripstik

Thats is my car. I'm not entirely sure but it looks like the my number is crossed out so my friend is actually driving at that point... If you have anymore pictures i would love to have them. How did I look BTW? that was a REALLY tight course for our cars. I know in the later session i was hitting a lot of cones (at least that how it felt)

I'm pretty sure that was actually from the first run of the day. You were hitting that first turn pretty well and powering out to the sharp left after the S where a lot of other drivers would drive hard into the S turn and miss their gear shift and had no power going into the next two turns. I have a couple more and my gf got some burst shots so PM your email if you want me to zip em up and send em your way.

May not have been the fastest car, but I thought you were one of the better drivers.

One of the later heats, either you or your buddy laid on the horn a couple of times. That's how you know its a tight course!

Dudes you just made my day, and that was me that kept hitting the horn. I like a nice close seating position for hard driving and with all the crossing over you had to do in this course i was surprised i didn't do it more. such a challenging course tho i definitely messed up a few down shifts in the back half of the course

Yeah it was fun to watch you and your friend go ripstik! Might end up doing it next year but we'll see haha. Once I get all the photos off the camera I'll post a link here to all of them. Yeah I liked how the course got a little bigger and changed direction..didn't like how the course had no cool down lane and you really had to hit the brakes. But oh well lol

It actually wasn't bad at all the finishing beams were actually half way through the last turn so you have way more than you needed to stop plus they didn't make you stop. Last year was way worse, you actually had to come to a complete stop inside a u shape of cones. but honestly it wasn't that bad and it kept the really high HP people in check.

Oh I didn't see them, everyone was coming in hot right into the pits so i didn't think there was enough cool down but I guess it depends on the driver lol. My brakes were so Damn squeaky caravaning up..Damn racecar pads but they were worth it haha

I kept hearing people say they didn't need to downshift and just kept it in second all day, but I must have been talking to the brz and sti guys. I found three places to go down to first gear, though it probably should really only have been two. At LGT wheel base, I just couldn't get the car to rotate in those spots where you had to slow down to make a 90 degree or greater turn. In that first u turn coming out of the S and then again in that funky box coming off the back stretch. I needed a damn lock to lock turn to navigate that sucker at 5 miles an hour. The last one was coming out of the bank after that little slalom run. However, I think if you set the slalom up right, you don't need first to make the sprint to the finish. I get the need to make it a safe, tight course, but that was tough. Had fun though. Nice to meet you ripstik! If you want to take that 5th gen real autocrossing ... take a look at the SCCA New England Region or one of the other clubs that run at Devens. See user bucko3the7man also. He has been autocrossing his 4th gen sedan for three years and this year just switched to an S2000. Still dailies the LGT though.

The real hard braking was done before the finish line coming off the last bank. Sharp left over finish leaves no room for speed coming over finish and back in to the pit.

maybe if you could carry some crazy speed through the first hard corner you don't need a down shift but our cars don't fall into that category. i tried the tight box on the back half in second once and it went terrible i ended up down shifting to get myself going again. i always kept it in second through the last slalom and the finish tho. you could actually carry great speed through there if you got the line just right. i plan on doing some sccv (sports car club of vermont) events this summer. i think they have 4 or 5
