Sad that every Legacy except the last two were turbos.

And, actually, the 2010 BM could have been a turbo model. They just chose to transition to the non-turbo model sooner... :spin:

^^Looks like it does just a hair better in the small overlap test than the 5th Gen. Thanks for that.

But this is supposed to be a thread where members get all excited about their cars and post numerous pics for the world to see how awesome and beautiful their cars are. Guess no one is really that excited.

Here, this is how it's done.

My brother just bought a 2015 Outback 3.6, and came to visit last weekend. The car's suspension feels wonderfully tight, and ride extremely composed. When shifting the paddle shifter, it shifts instantaneously, unlike my '11 Legacy 3.6. The interior is much more spacious, and materials, namely the wood trim and leather, is superior to the 5th Gens, and new Harman Kardon stereo sounded outstanding. I was impressed!

Here's some pics of our 3.6R's together.

I work at a Subaru retailer. My last car was a '12 Legacy 3.6R Limited. After driving the first new '15 3.6R that rolled off the truck, I was instantly able to understand the pros and cons of this new model. While the 5-speed auto definitely had quicker grunt off the line, the CVT version actually responds quicker to input. The paddle shifters work markedly better, especially for downshifting + engine braking. Above 5000 rpm, the CVT 'shifts' fast and crisp and actually feels quite strong from 40mph to 80mph.

This car will not ever fill the shoes of the GT or the Spec.B. That has to be stated, but I understand what Subaru was going for here. This has to be the nicest, most comfortable, and easily the most luxurious sedan that Subaru has ever assembled. From standard heated front + rear seats, to standard HID low-beams, to standard memory seat position, to real-time weather + sports infotainment, the list goes on and on. The bluetooth, navigation, smart phone pairing and compatibility, and vehicle customization has NEVER been anything like this in a Subaru. I have always liked luxury sedans, and to see Subaru offer just a touch of higher end features is very nice and enjoyable. The keyless access can be set to unlock just the drivers door, or all four of the doors when you touch the door handle. Each keyfob can be paired to its own memory seat position, so that upon entering, the seat automatically adjusts for that particular driver. The AM, FM, HD, and SiriusXM radio now have built-in recording like a TV DVR. I took a bluetooth call last week, and upon ending the call, the song on the radio had automatically paused and resumed itself from the same moment.

I do wish Subaru would bring back the GT, and other versions of the Legacy with enthusiast drivers in mind. As it is now, if you want anything sporty you are limited to the WRX, STi, and BRZ models being currently produced. My speculation is that when Subaru designed this new Legacy, they left the powertrains largely untouched and focused all of their engineering on the creature comforts and modernizations of the sedan, and it has paid off bigtime.

Believe me though, in 2 or 3 years, when the 2.0 DIT engine from the current WRX and Forester finally makes an appearance in the Legacy, my '15 3.6R will hit the lot for sale and I will grin ear-to-ear boosting down the road.
