Chris GTO TT
There is a July 19 and July 20 event. Anyone up for that? Or will it be too hot to drive? Well that depends on the track, Laguna Seca would likely be fine but Thunderhill will likely be over 90 for a high. 2003 Baja 5MT 2016 Outback 2.5i Premium w/Eyesight
GTEASER
It can get hot at Seca but unlikely. I went to MotoGP in 2006 and it was 112. Track temp was 136 and unraveling under the bike slicks. Rhitter
Speaking of more track days, who would be interested in Laguna around Thanksgiving? They usually have a crazy deal in November ($200 for one day or $350 for 2 days). If I am lucky it will be raining - which means my Outback will do awesome. fredrik94087
Hey Fred and GTEASER, how well did your 5th gen seats support you in the turns on the track? I came out of the sessions with two items that need attention: braking, seats. When I rode with wpmarky, it felt as though his seats held better. Maybe he can comment. I believe it wa f1inspiredlgt that suggested a 4 point harness kit. I still need to look into it. GTEASER
Seatbelt Lock Trick 1) Move seat back about 3" from normal driving position 2) Pull seatbelt tight against waist 3) Let as much seatbelt as possible retract, take out slack 4) Pull belt with fast jerk to lock the mechanism and hold until step 5 is complete 5) Move seat forward until you are tight in the seat If you do this the seatbelt will remain locked and act like a manual 3 point harness. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get this correct so that you are positioned correctly for driving and the belt is tight, but it makes the spirited driving experience completely different as you do not have to use your arms as much to hold yourself upright in the corners. This is particularly easy with power seats and can be much more difficult with manual seats without another person to help you slide the seat forward. I practice this once in a while on my twisty canyon road commute home in the evenings when no one is in front of me and I can freely drive with a spirited pace. And I have used this for AutoX and more recently the track day. I had my passengers do this too. FJuan
I believe it wa f1inspiredlgt that suggested a 4 point harness kit. I still need to look into it. Correct. When I used to race my previous car, I put in a 4 point harness. The 2 lap belts were connected to the Front seat rear bolts, the top shoulder belts will connect together behind the seat. With an extension belt, connect the 2 shoulder belts to the extension belt making it a "Y". Take the other side of the extension belt and connect it to the rear seat belt clip bolt. This is where I peiced my harness together. I would suggest going with the 3" belts over the 2" belts, they will hold you in tighter. http://www.summitracing.com/search/part-type/racing-harnesses/number-of-mounting-points/4-point?SortBy=BestKeywordMatch&SortOrder=Ascending&keyword=harness My wife's balls are delicious. Haha first time out with new tires = taking it easy & not going that fast in turns. I was sliding around in later sessions. I also wish I could have a seat + 4-5 pt harness. My deal with my wife is when our baby girl is big enough for her recaro, daddy gets a recaro too so we can match.

Rhitter
On American cars - at least Ford and Chevy - you can pull the seatbelt all the way out and it locks and ratchets back in place. Used this in my Mustang and used it in the ride a long in the Corvette. Good to know there is a trick with Subaru's to mimic that.
