  1. Did some searching and found the oil pan thread with part numbers and different combinations folks have used. I got the 06 oil pan part number. Think I’m just gonna use a iag pick up and 06 oil pan. Do you all just use the stock windage tray/baffle? TIA!
  2. Mine sees the occasional spirited use sans kiddos…but for the most part, nothing too crazy. I agree, most is not needed for my intended purpose, esp at the price point. Interesting about the 06+ sti, I’ll have to check that out.
  3. @KZJonny what oil pan are you using? Thought about this one as well as opposed to the killer b….mines just a stock daily. ugh all this talk about brake line failure…not something I want to think about. I need to read through covert Russians thread again. I still stand by what I said…I’d rather fix up an older vehicle than go new. Did a quick detail on mine tonight for a meet up at the local dealership next week. Not what I consider 100% by any means, but still cleaned up pretty nicely for a stock daily with two kids. I didn’t bother with before pics…I’d rather hide my shame Still nice to know the car cleans up so nicely after all these years. I had to credit this to the PO, I’m fairly certain it was garaged and driven on nice Sundays. Really appreciate the fact it was so well loved. I’m trying to maintain that but can’t quite do it at the same level they did, but I do condition the interior fairly regularly during warm months….
  4. I’m just here for the ride…I’d love to improve the stock sound system, but don’t know much about car audio. Sub’d to learn more.
  5. That wiring kit looks pretty slick and too notch. Glad your car back on the road! @Febreze Mee x2 on it being nice seeing lots of activity. taking about classics well into their 30s…I’ve been collecting parts for my 85 s10. Goal is to daily it during the summer so I can park the LGT for a while to hopefully address some things that have been needing to be addressed and get some things on that came from JPN auction. Hard to believe the LGT will be 20 next year…. Still loving it though and I wouldn’t want anything newer. I’d rather just fix something up, even if it were a PITA. Classics FTW!
  6. For pre-facelift, yes. You will need to trim the nub for the headlights, see pic. You’ll also need upper and lower crash beams. If you’re doing post facelift, you’ll need both crash beams, fenders, impact styrofoam (upper and lower), headlights, headlight bracket, grill, and inner fender liners. 2nd pic is a post facelift bumper on pre-facelift car. If you need prt numbers for impact styrofoam let me know I can get those for you. Partsouq still has foam available. Lower beam is discontinued but you can find on EU wrecker sites.
  7. Congrats on winning that! I was hoping you’d go for it. That’s awesome you got all the other bits as well, I didn’t even realize the s402 had different fan blades fas well. It’s the little things that make the car stand out… @SubOperator yeah…that was one of the worst mistakes I’ve made since owning the car…I have no regrets, though.
  8. Wow that doesn’t seem that bad….hard to imagine it’s $$3k worth of damage but I’m not an insurance adjuster. I guess that includes parts and labor…
  9. Not to threadjack but @Max Capacity could you elaborate for edification purposes? Just curious for the reasoning.
  10. I’d scuff it and paint it with SEM trim black. It’s an acrylic, so it’ll stand up way better to the elements. I’ve never seen oem black trim lettering.
  11. Same for Amazon…Boxkita could probably point you in the right direction.
  12. Good for you! That’s awesome that you were able to find matching doors at the junkyard and saved $2k! Do you have any pics of the carnage? Did insurance not total the car?
  13. Yeah…between age and just other cars becoming more (it seems like) readily available, there’s less and less…
  14. Are the housings blue? They kinda look blue from the pics the way the light is going through them. Either way, I’ll have to fool around with them when they come in. Appreciate the info from both of you! This is good stuff!
  15. Uh….yeah. Might be swapping those. I think it’s not as clear since that photo was taken when it was still light out, but that spread seems thin. I’m sure you could swap the bulbs for more light spread.
  16. Thanks for the info @Fenrir1 and @DoctorDaveLGT! I was wondering about that myself…I thought about swapping for red or even just natural/white. Good to know these can be swapped without soldering.
  17. Good to know, thank you for sharing! I’ve got some on the way so it’s nice to know where the best spots to put these are. Where do these plug in at?
  18. I love it that you have two remote controls in your car Seriously though kudos to you for getting that set up and working, that’s pretty awesome! How did you get the nav in the top bezel working to show that (is it torque or some other app)?
  19. Wasn’t sure where to post this, so thought I’d throw it in here. Basically, a PSA. Today I sold the wife’s Tribeca (bittersweet, really loved that car). Anyway, guy who bought it from me knows H6 outback’s pretty well and recently had a GT wagon in his shop. Issue was, he had no radio/hvac I think? Guy didn’t really get into it, but it was a severe electrical issue. Owner had brought it to the local dealership and paid $2600 in diagnostics. No codes, nothing. Ended up the sunroof had leaked and water ran back to the rear cargo lamp and shorted it and melted the internals. Turns out, the rear cord has a 35 amp fuse on it that runs to the primary back up fuse for the main fuse block. He called the dealership and called it something they hadn’t heard of and had no idea. The rear lamp was replaced and everything worked as it should again. So, watch your sunroofs and be mindful of the age/condition of that seal! There was no moisture upfront to indicate a problem…
  20. I didn’t think of this before but check Legacy Oddsnends, they’ve got a plug n play wire harness for non-HID cars.
  21. Japan auctions would be a good place to look…but as someone who’s looked around for parts made outside the USDM that are much nicer options that the rest of the world got i can see how it’d be difficult. All I ever find is HID. Have you tried restoring them? I don’t know if you’ve got suppliers in NZ that supply those sorts of things but I’d imagine you could find them in Aus?
