JDM vs US facelift fenders
SoobyDoobyDoo replied to tenchu's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
Whoops…man that sucks. I get it though, I’ve done that too, learned my lesson the hard way. If you need a part # or vendor, lmk. I’ve got a JDM front bumper I bought off another local member so I’ve been looking for parts, I can send you a link or let you know who’s got them. EU fenders will work as well, they’re the same as JDM but you might be able to get away with lesser shipping. Another option is to contact @Enlight, he runs a freight forwarding company from Japan, he’s got excellent rates. -
JDM vs US facelift fenders
SoobyDoobyDoo replied to tenchu's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
Unfortunately no. The USDM/JDM fenders are slightly different enough they won’t work. Not sure if the details but I know JDM head lights won’t work with usdm front bumper and I’m pretty sure the mud guards on the inside are slightly different too. Thanks, Subaru. id contact the place you bought the front end from and have them send you the correct part. Idk how you mess up sending a pre-facelift fender, when it’s completely different? You have to look close but you can tell the difference between pre and post facelift fenders. -

Back From the Dead Rebuild Thread
SoobyDoobyDoo replied to socalsleeper's topic in Legacy Photos (2005-2009)
Had no idea what that was….but that’s cool! Yeah…glad the majority were bought a long time ago. If I tried to do that now…it’d have been sold a long time ago. Thankfully with this car, shipping is what kills me not parts prices. -
Back From the Dead Rebuild Thread

I’ve got 20yrs of owning my v8 swapped g-body Buick thats been driven twice (once backing out and once around the block). Life just gets in the way. But I’m like you, I’m too stubborn to let it go, cause one day I’ll be able to drive the snot out of it and not care and know that the last 20yrs of acquiring parts and trying to get it roadworthy will all fade to the smile on my face. Keep at it! If the goal wasn’t worth it, then why would you bother? -
Fenrir1 06' Spec B Build TBSTI Replica
SoobyDoobyDoo replied to Fenrir1's topic in Legacy Photos (2005-2009)
(Gets flame suit on). I think with a plain trunk it’d look good. I dig the second picture at the gas station. With the silver on the rest of the car, it pulls it off nicely. Can’t do that with just any color. -
S402 Clone build

Parts look great! And love the fog lights-I was lucky enough to see @DoctorDaveLGT’s rainbow fogs, they are fantastic! Definitely way more classy than plain old yellows (not that those are bad…no hate here for them, just the rainbows are amazing). -
The time has come to cash out...
SoobyDoobyDoo replied to Richard_Mtl's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
My wife and I just sold her 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca with 161k miles for $750. Valve cover gaskets needed replaced, head gaskets would be needed soon (slowly seeping), power steering pump was going out, needed struts, bushings…a lot of work, probably to the tune of $5k+. I was in the same boat…I didn’t want to dump that kind of money into it, to risk something else major going wrong with it. Not an 2.5i outback, but a comparable. Sold it to a Subaru h6 mechanic who did a lot of work with h6 outback’s who was going to fix it and give it to his sister in law. Was happy it’d get fixed and live on, car still had a lot of life left in it. Bonne chance! -
Curious to see how this one plays out considering it came from JPN auctions. I see now what the deal is with those…looks like you can rebuild it which is nice but the voltage regulator seems like it’s more than the whole damn thing…Denso is the oem manufacturer isn’t it? Funny story about the car meet I went to. It was 95% wrx’s and STi’s….all I’ll say is, as soon as I opened the door I was greeted by a cloud of vape smoke. I knew then I was very out of place… Still had a good time there were some cool cars. Def a very different crowd though.

@KZJonny what oil pan are you using? Thought about this one as well as opposed to the killer b….mines just a stock daily. ugh all this talk about brake line failure…not something I want to think about. I need to read through covert Russians thread again. I still stand by what I said…I’d rather fix up an older vehicle than go new. Did a quick detail on mine tonight for a meet up at the local dealership next week. Not what I consider 100% by any means, but still cleaned up pretty nicely for a stock daily with two kids. I didn’t bother with before pics…I’d rather hide my shame Still nice to know the car cleans up so nicely after all these years. I had to credit this to the PO, I’m fairly certain it was garaged and driven on nice Sundays. Really appreciate the fact it was so well loved. I’m trying to maintain that but can’t quite do it at the same level they did, but I do condition the interior fairly regularly during warm months….

4th Gen Audio Discussion
SoobyDoobyDoo replied to blackobxt's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
I’m just here for the ride…I’d love to improve the stock sound system, but don’t know much about car audio. Sub’d to learn more. -
That wiring kit looks pretty slick and too notch. Glad your car back on the road! @Febreze Mee x2 on it being nice seeing lots of activity. taking about classics well into their 30s…I’ve been collecting parts for my 85 s10. Goal is to daily it during the summer so I can park the LGT for a while to hopefully address some things that have been needing to be addressed and get some things on that came from JPN auction. Hard to believe the LGT will be 20 next year…. Still loving it though and I wouldn’t want anything newer. I’d rather just fix something up, even if it were a PITA. Classics FTW!

For pre-facelift, yes. You will need to trim the nub for the headlights, see pic. You’ll also need upper and lower crash beams. If you’re doing post facelift, you’ll need both crash beams, fenders, impact styrofoam (upper and lower), headlights, headlight bracket, grill, and inner fender liners. 2nd pic is a post facelift bumper on pre-facelift car. If you need prt numbers for impact styrofoam let me know I can get those for you. Partsouq still has foam available. Lower beam is discontinued but you can find on EU wrecker sites.

Congrats on winning that! I was hoping you’d go for it. That’s awesome you got all the other bits as well, I didn’t even realize the s402 had different fan blades fas well. It’s the little things that make the car stand out… @SubOperator yeah…that was one of the worst mistakes I’ve made since owning the car…I have no regrets, though.

Weird noise on cold start up

Not to threadjack but @Max Capacity could you elaborate for edification purposes? Just curious for the reasoning. -
Black badging
SoobyDoobyDoo replied to Bobsyouruncl's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
I’d scuff it and paint it with SEM trim black. It’s an acrylic, so it’ll stand up way better to the elements. I’ve never seen oem black trim lettering. -
Same for Amazon…Boxkita could probably point you in the right direction.

Fenrir1 06' Spec B Build TBSTI Replica

Are the housings blue? They kinda look blue from the pics the way the light is going through them. Either way, I’ll have to fool around with them when they come in. Appreciate the info from both of you! This is good stuff!
