  1. Jon, you might need to check on a site where members take their vacations in another kind of Subaru.
  2. Mine will do it whatever the temps. Most prominent on 90* turns from stop, but can also be induced by launching quickly from a dead stop
  3. Which BNR do you have. Presumed that the EVO turbine side would be smaller/similar to our stock VF40s turbines, but from the pictures it looks like the 18s and 20s are physically bigger. Confused, maybe.
  4. The KCA313 RCK is what you want. Fitments: - Subaru Impreza (MY01-02) GD-GG 10/00-9/02 excl turbo - Subaru Impreza (MY01-02) WRX & STi GD1 10/00-9/02 turbo sedan - Subaru Impreza (MY01-02) WRX GG1 10/00-9/02 turbo wagon - Subaru Impreza (MY03) STi GD 10/02-9/03 turbo excl WRX - Subaru Impreza (MY03-07) GD-GG 10/02-07 excl turbo - Subaru Impreza (MY03-07) WRX GD2 10/02-07 turbo sedan excl STi - Subaru Impreza (MY03-07) WRX GG2 10/02-07 turbo wagon - Subaru Impreza (MY04) STi GD 10/03-9/04 turbo excl WRX - Subaru Impreza (MY05-07) STi GD 10/04-9/07 turbo excl WRX - Subaru Impreza (MY08) GH 10/07-On non-turbo - Subaru Impreza (MY08) STi GE 02/08-On turbo excl WRX - Subaru Impreza (MY08) WRX GE 10/07-On turbo awd - Subaru Impreza (MY94-00) GC-GF 10/93-9/00 excl turbo - Subaru Impreza (MY94-00) WRX & STi GC-GF 10/93-9/00 - Subaru Legacy BD,BG 6/94-99 - Subaru Legacy BE B4 98-02 turbo - Subaru Legacy BE,BH 98-02 excl turbo - Subaru Legacy BL,BP 09/03-08 all - Subaru Liberty BD,BG 6/94-99 - Subaru Liberty BE B4 98-03 turbo - Subaru Liberty BE,BH 98-02 excl turbo - Subaru Liberty BL,BP 09/03-08 all Will dial-out the bump-steer I'm confident you're experiencing lowered that much and will provide a much better on-road feel. Also, don't forget the Anti-lift Kit (one of the best mods I did to my GTs) to add-in some positive caster. Will make your "L" very "tossable" and stable at the limits.
  5. BTW - has anyone used the stock heat shielding on a BNR turbo and if so, how much cutting was required to make it fit?
  6. We replaced Smitty's turbo last weekend, procedures are spot-on.
  7. Mike - the prices I quoted above for Hanger's 2.5 SOHC were off of 1stsubaruparts.com. And I should have added in another $40 for coolant - my bad.
  8. Are you lowering the car? If you are, and depending on how much (at least 1 inch) you might/should consider getting a roll-center kit. Whiteline has one for the 4th Gens (I use one on mine) and that includes new heavy duty ball joints and tie-rod ends.
  9. And doing all of your hoses at the same time is just good insurance, particularly in the dry Cali heat, they tend to start the replacement "cycle" around 100-110K.
  10. What??? It's ($180) for two hours of labor and $50 TB = ($230 tops) unless you add-in a new water pump ($100) and TB Tensioner ($110) - then you're looking at ~$500 tops (including labor).
  11. Because, starting in April 1999, 2.2L Legacys came with MAP sensors instead of MAFs??? Check your build date... could be the issue.
  12. For what you've described, I think the stock clutch setup is more than adequate unless you're thinking of doing consistent 5K RPM launches. I went to 100K on the stock clutch and 40K of that at Stage 2+ and I've towed since ~5K miles. But I upgraded to ACT HD at 104K and now a few Ks later, I'm going back to stock setup. Just cannot abide by the noise and chatter on the WRX FW with the ACT HD setup. Of course, YMMV
  13. No - no help there... he's rotated out of Japan on his military orders and is no longer there. See this post in that same thread: I'm Done
  14. If I had the choice, I'd go with the FLSD over a DCCD, especially if I already had an LSCD. But the real question is why not both an LSD and DCCD if you have that opportunity (and a DCCD-capable 6MT).
  15. Don't think you looked carefully enough. There's 2002-2003, 2004-2005, 2006-2007, 2008... just have to look for them.
  16. Try following this link. Look carefully for what you need...
  17. Get some sleep Mike... early to bed, early to rise, yada, yada, yada... And Happy New Year - may it be your best ever.
  18. Toyos have good tread/grip before change-out? I ask because there seems to be a correlation between torque-grip at the wheels and the noise.
  19. Everyone has commented on that. Guess there were some fitment issues on the original, given the larger sizing, so they just hammered it to get the mold the way they wanted.
  20. Here you go, VF-52 next to a VF-40 from 3GWRX.com http://i352.photobucket.com/albums/r358/collegemt/100_1485.jpg http://i352.photobucket.com/albums/r358/collegemt/100_1488.jpg http://i352.photobucket.com/albums/r358/collegemt/100_1489.jpg http://i352.photobucket.com/albums/r358/collegemt/100_1490.jpg My money is still on the BNR turbo (with MHI running gear) over either of the these two VFs.
