  1. JW - welcome. BTW - just got my 98 LGT here from SoCal and glad to have it here finally. Love the 2nd gens, almost as much as I love me 4th gen.
  2. Welcome. BTW - did anyone get to the auto-x this weekend? How did the LGTs do?
  3. Personally, I'd stick with 18x7.5 +45 and 225/40x18s... Won't mess with your speedometer, nor will it potentially impact your fender line. Different tire brands have different section widths so depending on which tire you choose, it could affect how much rubber "overhangs" the rim.
  4. Stock offset is +55 with the stock 7" wheel. To go to an 8" wheel, you need to decrease offset by approximately 1/2 of 25.4mm (1") or 12.2mm 55mm minus 12mm = 43mm, so anything in the +45 to +48 range will work well without compromising your fender line or your suspension side. Like everything else, YMMV.
  5. Add in a wider-sectioned tire that sticks out predominantly past the vertical face of the wheel and, with no additional negative camber, and you might have to roll the fenders to provide clearance when you're loaded (or lowered).
  6. If you're going up in wheel width, think of the increased width across both sides of the wheel. 1/2 inch (7.5" to 8.0" wheel) is approximately 12.5mm (actually 12.7mm but we'll use 12.5mm for ease of conversion) so you're adding 6.25mm of additional width to both sides. If the offset stays the same (+45), between the 7.5" and the 8.0" wheel, then you're moving the wheel width 6.25mm closer to the internal suspension side and 6.25mm further outward toward the fender. However, if you change offset, say to +43, then you're moving the internal face 4.25mm closer to the suspension and moving the external face 8.25mm closer to the fender - and that much closer to rubbing.
  7. ^ Because they could. One more thing to add to the "why" list
  8. Welcome - guess we'll need to get together before then.
  9. Finally got one of my 98 LGTs (BD5) here from SoCal. So glad to see it sitting in the driveway again. It arrived off-the-transporter, with 75,139 miles on it. It had been sitting in dry storage in Sandy Eggo and I had it shipped out to become my wife's DD. Looks great. As soon as I get it detailed, will get some pics up. Tires are a bit flat-spotted and the engine is a bit rough from sitting, but we're nursing her back a little bit at a time - fresh gas and injector treatment will go a long way toward remedying the engine roughness. I can already hear the change in her heart beat.
  10. True dat~ Can't see this being on the market for very long - excellent price point.
  11. Brock, can you please post up the P/N for the Canadian variant, so we can attempt to source it (after these three are gone). Thanks in advance.
  12. ^ Amen. But need to do some Dremel polishing in the small crevices first.
  13. There's about 500 lbs of camping gear in the trailer (with about 35 lbs of tongue weight), and another 75-80 lbs inside the rear compartment behind the back seat. But, it's on Bilstein/Swifts, so it doesn't sag. When the trailer is fully loaded it's about 1000 lbs and 60 lbs at the tongue - depending on how well I load it.
  14. Good eye but nah - the right rear wheel is really setting on an elevated mound of dirt in that picture, so the body is shifted left, pushing the left-rear wheel well down over that wheel. If it were sitting flat, it would be flat, front to rear. But, BOT - in this case the Yakima box fits on the Subaru stock cross-bar system
  15. I like to set my Yakima 16 SkyPro box back so the leading edge is just behind the slip-stream from the windshield. That means that it's just far enough aft that the rear lift spoiler does hit on the rear-end of the box, which keeps the lift from going all the way open. I just use a draped towel to protect it and duck a bit to keep from hitting my head.
  16. How about something like this? Looks really great on all of the Subaru colors except possibly silver
  17. Welcome. You ever get down to Charleston?
