Just called up my service department. They're aware of the issue and I have an appointment to take the car in on Monday for them to start the reflash process. My service writer (John K @ Rancho for the San Diego folk), said that they'd need the car for 3-5 days to get the ECU out, send it back to SOA and then have it resent back to San Diego. Not sure where the ECU has to go but if it's a coast-to-coast thing, that's not too bad. And they'll put me in a loaner/rental until I get the car back. Glad it's getting taken care of. SBT

It's Subaru's version of stability control called Vehicle Dynamics Control and, in the US, it only comes on the Outback 3.0 R VDC Wagon. SBT
