  1. If you have the MLS HG installed you should be fine. Seems the fix for the old HG issues in the 2.5i was to use the MLS HG the turbo engine got.
  2. I had AAA drop the car off at the dealership from my driveway, I called the service dept and told them it was coming. They had the records of the recall they performed earlier. I didn't have to do anything but pick it up when it was done. I will say they took out the passenger seat to replace the brakes under it. In your case, I would call SOA asap and start the process. It's been a few years since the recall. The call is free. There is a thread on here about this issue.
  3. It's a 2.5i so there's not a lot you can do performance wise. Just keep up with normal maintenance. I wonder what condition the coolant is in, has it been replaced ? When the HG is replaced, I assume by a indi shop not a dealership, they will replace the coolant, maybe have the coolant system pressure tested too. I'll assume there is a timing belt, has that ever been replaced, again, when the heads are off, it should be replaced. I'm not really up on 2.5i's
  4. Maybe its time to start your own thread. The e-brake, you can adjust them with a brake tool, I think the right side is backed off more than it needs to be. There is a SS bolt that I used to replace the old pin that holds the parking brake shoes in place. There is also a adjuster under the e-brake handle. I did play with that once years ago. rear window and stalling are new to me. Maybe a vacuum leak for the stalling issue. Let's get your own thread going. If you'd like, you can link this thread to your new one, if someone wants to know more background.
  5. YES, Call SOA. My Dealer replaced all the hard line on my 05 for free back a few years. It was a $1100. Job, Free to me. I didn't have to call. But I have spent lots of money at that Dealership over the years.
  6. I don't think you need a Pro Tune if you already have a custom tune... KZ may know for sure. I may have had my Tuner do a quick street tune but tit was a long time ago. I do know for an exhaust change, after the turbo you don't need a tune once you have a tune for the 3" Dp.
  7. Look for a Grimmspeed tmic, they are not cheap, but they are easy to install and remove when needed. Back when GS was thinking about it, they came on here and asked us what we wanted in a tmic. They filled all the request with their great product. I did buy two of them. I even met Matt when they were at the Wicked Big Meet years ago.
  8. I'd say 1sqft should be fine. The tape is made to be used by itself. So maybe just put it where you have space. It also may be overkill...I just ran the gold tape inside the OEM shield.
  9. Here's that bracket. The secind picture showxitat the bottom right
  10. I think that broken bolt on the fender side is attached to the up pipe support bracket, (?)
  11. that's the gold heat reflecting foil on the inside of the OEM heat shield. You can also so the gold foil/tape on the underside of the tmic. On the Spec's DP I have a clamp on metal heat shield, down at the cat. I can post a photo of it later when I'm on the PC. https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecId=11221&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=1838-001&gclid=Cj0KCQjwoK2mBhDzARIsADGbjeqKbMTWLGeiPaOF9wkNbMho2XPahDk8iWvCpVbjWUKBVlr-lyAVMXQaAklCEALw_wcB
  12. I've used the gold foil for many years. Even have some on the hot side of the tmic.
  13. I hear the wagon has moved on to its new owner, hopefully he'll chime in on the forum soon. Previous owner, had to get rid of some of his toy's, needed the room.
  14. If you really have to have that exact part, maybe a junkyard. www.car-part.com Or just use a few zipties.
  15. I'll assume you have cleaned the OD on the metal really well and also the ID of the hose ? I use hose clamps made by Breeze.
  16. Heard from the new owner, he's ready to move the car on, he said it's still running great.
  17. Can you get the front lift points under the frame and not the rocker on the OBW ? I think one thought about the shorter arms is to move the heavy part of the car back a little towards the post for safety.
  18. A label, funny, I remember years ago putting a label on the floor jack, "Wheelie Bar" after forgetting to on pin it before jacking up the front of the car. LOL My son still has that jack, and the sticker is still there.
  19. Great progress. I thinking you'll want to be careful of raising the car up with the hood or trunk open.
  20. I'm sorry, did you not understand, he's talking about a turbocharged Subaru for those models he referenced. I'll add, since buying the GT wagon in late June 2004, I would always tend to coast in neutral when I could before stopping or shutting the car off. I found during my normal driving, it was easy to do. I understand with the 5eat, that might not be as easy to do. That and using a good quality oil.
  21. I think I posted the tip years ago after mounting my first GS tmic, put the hose on the tmic outlet overnight, the day before you install it. It opens that hose to the right and easy fit. Then install on ATB like you did, first.
