  1. 08 legacy gt Mods Perrin turbo inlet and after Maff hose Cobb high flow catted down pipe Tomei ARMS MX7960F turbo Cobb v3 running stage 2 shelf tune checked on with data logs by local tuning shop to make sure things are working well on tune been running this for the last 1.5 years Latest work AVCS system stopped reading on the Cobb changed out avcs solenoids was still not registering on the Cobb put a new oil pressure switch in wham working great so my random shut off problem was fixed. I also installed a new front O2 sensor/ AFR sensor as I was running really rich that fixed that old O2 that I put in last year looked like it got hit by something was dented and the outer Case on the sensor part in the manifold pipe was cracked ran great for two days then last Sunday my boost reading and AFR readings where jumping all over the place Stumble / rough at idle only Boost was jumping from -7.89 to -9.99 AFR was jumping from 13.89 to 15.04 What I have done checked for boost leaks can't find a single one stumble has gone away but my boost and AFR readings still jumping around at idle Any ideas what could be the culprit possible faulty O2 sensor ? First time I have ever had this issue
  2. Hey everyone I was having this same problem changed out my AVCS solenoids ended up being my oil pressure switch also changed out my front O2/AFR sensor everything was working great and running great for 2 days then on day three last Sunday at idle I noticed I was running rich once again. And looked at the Cobb tuner and no codes but my AFRS are jumping around as well as my boost at idle and rpms where dropping down to the high 4xxs If anyone has an idea what might be causing this a possible failed O2 sensor let me know what you think I have checked for boost leaks can't find any Rpms are not dropping like they where on Sunday but the Afrs and boost are still jumping around compared to their normally rock solid idle readings Idle AFR bouncing from 13.98 to 15.04 Idle Boost is bouncing from -9.98 to -8.99 Idle rpm 768-800
  3. Thank you I called and got some good base things to keep and eye on and check
  4. Well this is turning out to be ineffective FYI Trans fluid is at proper level I have had to add some here and there due to it spitting it out and no leaks Trans operates and shifts great I am just confused on what would cause it to put fluid out of the vent tube when it's not over filled I have also put a new trans filter in its location behind the battery so I know it's not a plugged up filter causing excessive pressure buildup It's mainly just annoying that it's happening and I'm sure the drivers behind me when it happens don't appreciate all the smoke
  5. I had a brand new 5eat installed by Subaru in my 08 legacy gt at 89,000 miles now have 210,000 miles and 121,000 on trans well these last few years while cruising down the highway it will spit trans fluid out the breather hose spraying all over the down pipe and side of the trans once I slow down or pull Over it stops and then doesn't happen again for months never tripping any codes this had happened 7 times within the last 3 years I looked and commented in the other 5eat posts with no response but I don't think I could be the only one to experience this
  6. That's sorta a loaded question but I personally use either wix XP or royal purple oil filter I normally run the royal purple oil filter unless they don't have any in stock they both have good flow/ filtration specs and are built well as are some others out there
  7. I have been running the Cobb stage 2 tune on my 08 legacy for about 6 years now no problems but as Cobb will tell you their tunes are designed and calibrated around the parts they list as compatible with and will not recommend using it with parts other then what they tuned the vehicles with because not all parts are the same from one manufacturer to an other at least that's what one of their tech people told me on the phone he said to go get a pro tune but I don't have a local tuner that wants to put my 200,000 mile legacy on their dyno so what I did is load up my stage 2 tune and make an appointment for my local shop that does road tunes did some data logs and let them check out the data and make sure things were not out of wack now with my list of pets I am over boosting to 23.67 psi max I had some boost leaks and was over boosting a bit more and so far all is good so I'd say their tunes are fairly safe Tomei ARMs MX7960f turbo Cobb high flow catted down pipe Perrin turbo inlet Turbo smart plumb back bypass valve
  8. Yeah at first I pulled the down pipe to make sure the turbo would spin and nope so I took the turbo off and was like well crap hopefully that didn't mess up the turbo and I got lucky still no shaft play and the blades didnt even have a scratch on them she runs great now and I'm not overboostibg as much as I was so I'm sure all the work out seals and gaskets were part of the cause there only overboostibg to 23.57psi now not 27psi so I'm happy hope everyone else had a productive Friday or went for a nice drive I did both
  9. It was all my fault I didn't pay close enough attention when installing the turbo and trimming my oil return hose hose clamp came off and went into up pipe and got stuck in the turbine when I started it up putting turbo back on now luckily it did not damage the turbo still zero shaft play and spins really nice still and the blades don't even have a scratch on them thank you for all the input maybe it's a sign to not work on my car while I'm doing 12-13 hour nights at work and then only sleep for 2-3 hours
  10. And yes the BPV on the drivers side of the intercooler not the wastegate on the turbo itself
  11. I have Cobb catted 3inch down pipe Tomei ARMS MX7960f turbo Perrin turbo inlet intake Cobb v3 acessport Crawford v2 AOS Stage 2 /20% low Wastegate duty cycle Checked on road tune / data log at local performance shop till I get a pro tune Nothing crazy not much power I was looking for the source or a possible oil leak found no oil leak but found that almost all my intake manifold seals showed signs that they might not be sealing so I replaced them I had also been getting a fuel odor on cold starts I checked the fuel injector seals and every single one was cracking apart so I replaced them took my time to clean everything and make sure things were seated right went back over my vacuum line diagrams and diagrams for the Perrin intake all that appears to be correct even if I give it wide open throttle it just sounds like it's being held back I can't hear any auditable leaks / hissing or sucking of air I also replaced any brittle vacuum lines that I found while I had it apart so I didn't have to worry about taking it back apart for a while
  12. No I'm using the Cobb high flow catted down pipe and it does not have the decider in it like the invidia nope zero cels if you supply pressure to the vacuum side it would open like it had before when checking it no I don't just rev it I have gone in several drives checking things and driving again trying to find any leaks and listen for anything but so far the BPV is the only thing I could find that was not working and leaking but was a small leak and turbo spins free by hand with zero shaft play Thus is the first time I have ever not made boost since I purchased it in 2013 so this is new for me normally I have to baby it so I'm not over boosting
  13. Determined it was stuck closed due to in was in the closed position and could not get it to actuate and open with compressed air it worked before and have checked it with my compressor before and it had worked just fine as far as I could tell but this last time it wouldn't move at all Yeah the smoke test is all I got left to try and figure this out Who knows maybe I have missed something/ overlooked something it just baffles me on how great it is running yet something is causing it to not make boost I made sure my oil feed and turbo blanket are clear of the wastegate arm as well I'll figure it out I just figured I'd post seems how I didn't find a post for it and see what other people had experienced or found to be the culprit if they had the same issue at some point Thanks for the reply
  14. So I had been making boost fine but I as replacing seals and gaskets that we're no longer sealing and anyways I got everything put back together and car runs great fires up better then it ever has since I have owned it drives good but it does not make any boost the highest it got was -0.27 on the Cobb tuner I have checked all the vacuum lines everything is connected correctly according to the diagrams and not leaking all new lines Turbo has no shaft play and spins free The only thing I found when checking everything was my oem BY pass valve was not working the valve would not move from the closed position now correct me if I'm wrong but I thought if it was closed i would still make boost so I don't think that's why it's not making boost but I could be wrong My new BPV will be here Thursday so when I get that I'll put it on and do a smoke test to see if there are any leaks that I can't hear Turbo
