  1. curious if the sideskirts from the outback would fit...would give it that chunky appearance and the black plastic continuity. could add a black plastic diffuser to the rear to finish it up
  2. i made sure i did. i normally get the insurance when i buy a set, was surprised that i didn't this time...i've been going to this shop for years though and the owner cut me a bit of a deal--got the tire at cost and free mounting, so it actually ended up around 160. so, at least there's that.
  3. dropped a wheel off at the tire shop. picked up a screw in the outermost tread that poked itself right in to my sidewall. ugh. $200 later...and i get to pick up my new tire this afternoon. only ~6k miles on it too, pisser.
  4. i always just get it machined--my shop charges $40 for it, so for the price it's cheap insurance that i know i'm getting a god surface.
  5. quick research shows motylgear is semi-synthetic while the gear300 is full synthetic. looks like the additive package in the motylgear might be a little better for older gearboxes, more stuff to help the syncros out, but otherwise not a whole load of difference aside from the semi-vs-full-synthetic thing. if you got a good deal on the 300 then you got a good deal
  6. good looks--$15 rebate gift card from a previous purchase came in handy, 2 are coming home with me.
  7. lots to consider--didn't think about the strut spacer option, so that's interesting. will continue researching and see what i come up with. appreciate the input errybody
  8. ooh crap didn't know the rear control arms were that much of a pain...hmmm, will have to inspect and see what kind of shape they're in then. i'm not looking to drop the car any(thanks craptastic richmond roads), so sticking with stock seems to be the best idea in my head, just not sure how worth the extra money konis would be if i'm staying at stock height...
  9. just a quick wash and wax considering the nice weather on saturday...and then it rained all day sunday. of course. currently planning/budgeting a whole suspension refresh...thinking KYBs designed for the 13-14, OEM 13-14 springs, new top hats, bellows and bump stops...think i'm going with mevotech front and rear control arms. Also have a 19mm rear sway bar that'll be going in, and will be putting some new end links on it when installing that. Thoughts on OEM over the mevotechs, or OEM over the KYBs or konis?. either way, i'm excited to get this 150k+ mile suspension out of here. gonna be a good spring.
  10. i'm needing to replace mine too, and i'm going with the mevotechs. for the price(if you're installing them yourself), even if you only get 3 years out of them, they're so cheap that it doesn't really make a big difference, but the upgraded bushings to help tighten stuff up will be nice.
  11. i always just spray it down with some silicon spray when i'm lubing up the door weather seals every year. keeps it working pretty good in my books, but same general idea
  12. look good IBR, the extra 15mm of offset should play nicely too
  13. if it's made for a subaru 6 speed manual then yes it will. just make sure it has the center bore for the reverse lockout collar and you're set.
  14. $700's not bad...i found a set a couple months ago that were all curb rashed to hell and needing some refurb work for $300, but someone jumped on em before I could get em. made me sad
  15. love those wheels...been keeping a look out for a cheap set, but they're all 800-1k and that makes me sad...can't swing it right now, but i think they'd look great on the leggy
  16. they scream B5 RS4 to me...think they would look better at 18 inch with a longer taper. that said, i like em...definitely not something you see every day
  17. yeah that's different than the 10-12 model year, so wondering if the wiring is different
  18. doesn't 2013 have a different steering wheel? could that be the issue?
  19. you're going to want to keep an eye on the for sale section...cars are pretty rare so it's a little slow. https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/magnaflow-exhaust-281236.html
  20. I'd be willing to bet that's the case...dealers know a turbo, manual, full size sedan is a limited market and aren't going to want it sitting on their lot for a long time. Also, wondering if the owner drove in maryland a lot--they salt their roads more than virginia, so could be a lot of rust hiding underneath. would make sense given that it just got 4 new calipers...
  21. https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/d/woodbridge-2010-subaru-legacy-25-gt/7034771055.html good price! 2010, 140k, $6,400, DC area. looks clean, and recent brakes and calipers all around...makes my heart hurt thinking about what i paid for my car just 3 years ago, but that's okay.
  22. looks like a clean older lady, glad she's in good hands and getting put back together. gl with the project!
  23. wow those are insane FLleg, doesn't seem like there's any hot spots like on the HIDs, just clear even light.
