  1. i think the shiny black would look okay if you did the wood trim and/or the center console trim in black. otherwise, there's no other shiny black in the car and it looks out of place. could do matte black or carbon fiber and those would probably look okay
  2. i'm in an essential job with a rock quarry, and it's only me and the cats at home, so nothing's really changed. bored that i can't go out and do anything at night or over the weekends, but aside from that here we are. don't have any parts or anything else I need for the car, maintenance is up to date. Got some yardwork to do, but with all the rain it's been making it difficult.
  3. can't comment on the 3.6r, specifically the timing and water pump sitch, but until the alternator, fuel pump/filter, starter and coil packs go, leave them as is. PCV valve would be a good idea, diff fluids, brake fluid, spark plugs if they haven't been. just basic maintenance stuff and replace stuff as it starts getting worn. may want to check under the car and see if your suspension bushings are ripping, torn ball joint/tie rod end boots, etc. from what i understand the 3.6 and 5eat are pretty robust and should run just fine for quite a while with basic maintenance, it's the rest of the stuff on the car that runs down with age, just like any other vehicle.
  4. god i want a legacy wagon so bad, those things look absolutely badass
  5. appreciate it but nah, the lenses are pretty jacked--looks like someone dropped some chemical on them in a couple spots at some point and ruined the plastic, so replacement would be the way.
  6. https://roanoke.craigslist.org/cto/d/roanoke-2010-subaru-legacy-4d-awd-25-gt/7095461854.html 2010, 179k miles, $7500. looks pretty clean
  7. let us know how those headlights are, i keep thinking of picking up a set to refresh the pitted and yellowed stock chromies i've got but can't decide if i want to pull the trigger
  8. ugh i always wanted to do that to my outback--yours looks great, even with that giant bit of cancer over the rear arch that every single wagon has
  9. https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/pts/d/bethesda-subaru-legacy-outback-bumper/7089259130.html some cheap body parts if anyone needs them. i'm half tempted to get them myself...
  10. Would definitely get a Gates kit of not going oem. While you're in there and have lots of stuff apart I'd do the valve cover gaskets and spark plugs. I'd check on the condition of the coolant hoses and if there's any soft spots or cracking I'd replace them as well. Thermostat as well while you're in there, and *definitely* go oem on that, they're like $15. I may go a bit overkill when I do stuff like this, but I'd rather get stuff done in one fell swoop than have to do a hundred small jobs, especially since the parts are cheap.
  11. yeah i mean that definitely makes the most sense and would be easiest to do, but from a strictly #aesthetic standpoint the injectors on a rail would look about a billion times cooler.
  12. oooh i like that fuel rail/injector idea...wonder if a washer pump produces enough pressure to get a good spray out of them. might be more fun to use those than windshield sprayers
  13. wiper stalk and wiper fluid reservoir from a wrecked outback isn't more than a few bucks at the junk yard, couple sprayers and a couple feet of tubing...i mean...it's...intriguing.
  14. oh no...i don't need this but i totally need this
  15. Yeah, if you don't have the equipment to do some data logging, start with the o2. if it comes back then you can work your way out to the cats, but it's probably the o2. if you had head gasket issues or anything like that it may end up being the cat, but it's likely the o2
  16. wow gteaser, you got a hell of a deal on that one. i'm sure you'll take care of her
  17. have you checked on ebay or car-part.com for new used steering wheels out of wrecked cars? don't know what shape your wheel is in but there are a few on ebay in pretty solid shape for $50 or less
  18. how's the refresh resolution on those guys? i've been meaning to get something to monitor boost and water temp on my GT, but if it's going to be relatively slow refresh like Torque with a bluetooth dongle, it's not going to be useful for me.
  19. yep, they do, and even the 19mm RSB is a *massive* improvement over stock...definitely recommend if you're still on the stock bar.
  20. woah. those are cheap...like suspiciously cheap.
  21. the GT is at a weird point, it's too old to have any buzz from the major tuners, and it's still a bit too expensive to have the cheap tuners in on it, not to mention that it's a relatively rare car...sooner rather than later there's really going to be no aftermarket support, and that's sad.
  22. I don't think those will fit USDM cars, so i doubt you'll have a better chance getting them from here
  23. it's okay, i wax my car regularly and my paint is still failing to shit, so...what's the point.
  24. wash, spray wax, and installed the oem spoiler that i bought. she looks pretty good, i'm happy with it. also got my state inspection done after it expired in january...i hate state inspections
