  1. I replaced all my coilpacks with OEM per tuner @190k when the engine was done. Still have the original coils and they are good.
  2. Worst case scenario you have another spare. You will need 1! Thanks for the update
  3. I will be honest, why are you going to the forums to ask a question about a $100 part? You are having misfires, shits about to hit the fan. Replace ALL 4 plugs (.028) and minimum of 1 coil. How many miles? Have the injectors been replaced and/or cleaned? Have you swapped coils as suggested? Sometimes you need to pay the $$$ and get the car diagnosed and repaired properly. I am a Master tech, still pay shops to do work I want warrantied.... A few hundred dollars for diagnosis is better than an engine.
  4. Tighten the rod for the wastegate. This is a known problem. Had the same issue. What turbo do you run? How much boost are you seeing?
  5. Preface has more wind noise. Other than that, I am putting a set of preface mirrors on so I can run grampus blue turn signals.
  6. My shop (Agile Automotive) tried the same. I pointed out Thermal dynamics and efficiency. Most shops want to err on the side of caution. Business is tricky Currently running a full blanket on my 7163, you NEED the blanket. Period. I am running fmic as well, there is a difference.
  7. I ran a FMIC on my tune, didn't change enough to cause knock or drop DAM. Check for leaks
  8. Mine did the same thing, if you bought it from Grimmspeed they will send you a new one. If not, you can try and convince them what an awesome customer you are (I purchased 3) and they will usually hook you up. 2 of mine did this., (the two with the phenolic spacers, coincidence?) Obxt hood should be the same height, engine is the same. They both interchange.
  9. You are on the right track, car uses the primary A/F sensor and MAF for those adjustments. You can't just unplug, need to replace the sensor(s) that are problematic. Did you post the log? Send it to marvick0718@gmail.com Have you checked for boost/vacuum leaks?
  10. Keep in mind if the car was tuned on a low reading or faulty MAF it will need adjustments made to the map. Been there done that, I replace the MAF before tuning now.
  11. Make sure the axle joint didn't slide out. Should be able to grab the whole spindle and move it when you have the BJ nut on.
  12. Might be interested in an around town legacy. Price is high for the mileage regardless of parts. Hmu, I'm local.
  13. Block will arrive at the shop this week. Excited to drive my baby! (Even if it is just break in.... XD) should see the car next week at some point. Be safe and keep boosting!
  14. The only things that can cause that are the primary O2 sensor (use denso or oem) or the MAF (use denso or oem). You can try cleaning the MAF, but if it's old just replace it. Good luck
  15. Seems similar to the STI bushings some STI years got. Seems like a metal sleeve with some rubber around it. Not a huge deal, I can just throw some bushings in, and mine is rusted to hell. That and not wanting to cut bolts off... Replacing all arms and the subframe I can leave most things attached and pull it together.
  16. Appreciate it, just didnt think i would have to do it twice! As long as I make it past 2600mi right.... Ordered an STI legacy rear subframe with the oem metal bushings. Wouldn't you know, a regular subframe was sent! They are seeing if they have one in the new shipment. Subframe is in great shape (no rust) and I could use it I guess. Only paid 240 shipped so it was a great price.
  17. Quick update, car is still at the shop and waiting for Darton East to finish the block.... So Sad!
  18. When the dealer replaced mine, they replaced from the front distribution @ ABS to the rear wheel hard line. Said it was the only way to do it "correctly". (Use dealer parts for correct plug and play fitment) They replaced the lines because when they did the recall, they only sprayed the block not the two frame contact points.
  19. I should have the car back in the next 2 weeks. Excited, but dreading the break in again...
  20. The tmic version sits over by the passenger strut tower. Not a big deal, the Fmic version sits over the pitch stop where the tmic used to be. I used the one you are selling now with my tmic and now my Fmic.
  21. How old is your primary O2? The primary A/F sensor and the MAF are what the Ecu use for closed loop operating. It getting better when disconnected, means the MAF or Primary O2 are the issue. Since you already replaced and rewired the plug, chances are the O2 is bad. Good luck and Merry Christmas!
  22. Yes the pills are different and affect the boost control of the vehicle. That being said, I have used numerous pills from different model cars. As Max said, if you are not sure what you are doing, buy the correct part.
