Marvick08GT's Ridiculous Build!
Marvick08GT replied to Marvick08GT's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
Appreciate the help, in my mind I was looking at the next failure point to be honest. I will probably rebuild the trans without the diffs, I spin bad coming out of corners, but not so much on the straight (where I usually push the car harder) -

I am torn between a full rebuild ~6k and with front and rear cusco 1.5 diffs ~10k. Need your help family, I know what differentials do, not sure how changing both would affect the car. Not sure if it is worth the 4k price difference, I usually roll on the street with very few events per year. -
As far as I remember those are not interchangeable. I believe the older one is standalone, and the new one ties to the can-bus (some info displays on the newer dash as well.

Looks like AndrewTech will probably be rebuilding my trans, still in the air, waiting on prices. -

Yeah, nobody understands how it got destroyed? Once it's apart we will know the tale... Appreciate it, may just grab an SG9 trans (front diff and long gears) still researching options. -

Well, somehow managed to blow up my transmission. 4th gear goes in (grinding) but has no power. Looking to get it rebuilt, nobody does this anymore? WTF East coast Center differential and all tailshaft bearings done withing 3k miles. -
New Error Code P171

My guess would be on the plenum o-rings. They leak and cause codes and rough running (or leak under boost). Have you checked the turbo inlet? -

Changed the oil and gave her some boost. Car died, blew off the pipe to the throttle body. Luckily i carry a tool kit in the trunk... A little back story, this pipe cost me $300 for them to custom make it, then they put a gun on the damn clamp... seriously pissed rn. Have it on decently, but it needs fixed..... -

Standalone for what? Car is fully tuned and sorted. I do have some plans though. My thoughts are I should be more at 34 psi, all of the wdc logs show they are pulling spool up and boost with this tune. I was told this was all the turbo had, not particularly happy, but will wait until the warranty is done to tune it again. -

Tuner wants me to use 300v 15w50 in the summer and 5w40 in the winter. Runs great, can't wait to change the oil and give it some sauce. Still paranoid because of the last one.. I will probably drive up when I have time and just let them look the car over (records, I have ptsd now..) Still need to do the rear subframe and whiteline bars/bushings. Still haven't painted the grampus mirrors yet... working on it lol -

Almost 800 miles, definitely feels great and is very quiet. Waiting for the 1k change to giver her some sauce.... Turbo sounds incredible, still love the setup -

Had the car almost a week now. About 300 miles. Decel vacuum is around 11.28 (was 10.45 when picked up) I have run the break in as recommended by the tuner again. Car feels smoother? Not sure how, once I am able to open it up I will see. There were no map changes, I was also told if I wanted any map changes I need a standalone due to the Cobb issue..... -
Same, I have numerous map revisions as well

Usually you are good for a few turns. I always did about 8 xD. Just watch the spike, should be fine. -
Whiteline had some issues with the older yellow bushings. These were superceded by black bushings that appear to fix the old issues. The yellows I removed were ovaled and had LOTS of play. I have replaced all bushings with the new blacks, definitely feel better for some reason. Also getting ready to do the rear subframe and all arms/bushings. Those are all black as well, so they must have fixed something.

I will check, I had a couple of sets. There is definitely a part number, but I got all mine with the trunk panels. -

Longblock is assembled and will be installed and running next week. Can't wait to drive my baby! Waiting for the spec sheets, some of the parts are different/better. The Carrillo rods got bushed to custom specs and 7 of the buckets needed replaced to make everything tight/consistent.
