I was completely stumped on a random revving issue so I shipped it off to TiC. (Turned out to be the barometric pressure sensor from the secondary air pump) Also had a a few bushings replaced, FF kit installed, Killer B headers/UP converted to EWG and EWG install. "While they were at it" My headers have been back from KillerB since last Monday, the shop doesn't know that I have that information, but Killer B sent me the tracking number when they shipped it back. Everything else was finished before the headers were sent off, so all they had to do over the last 2 weeks was install headers, EWG, and tweak the tune. I've told them no less than a dozen times that I have to take a day off work in order to come pick the car up (not to mention arrange a ride) so I need some advanced warning when the car should be finished. Never happens. They certainly have no trouble communicating when they want some money though. This minor service trip has become obscenely expensive. I guess its my fault for thinking their behavior and customer service practices will ever change. If there was another Subaru performance shop within 100 miles of me, then I would take my business elsewhere.

I expected more from you. Tsk Tsk Tsk I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed. Please take a moment to read the FS rules at the top of this sub-forum. You'll need to load ready-for-sale photos to the site's server in order to sell items on the site. We DO NOT allow Marketplace pictures to be linked from other websites (tapatalk, photobucket, flickr, imgur, etc..). Edit your OP, click Go Advanced, click the paperclip icon, browse to your pictures, choose you photo, click Ok, then click Upload. You can also load up to 10 photos of your items before you click Upload. Thread has 24 hours from initial posting to get everything loaded. Do not use the Load Image Process Picture load walk-through is linked in the rules and found on the Home Page. -
I'm not much of a Cockburn fan. (Actually had to google that because I'm not eligible for AARP)

Aren't those technically trunk louvers?

The Oil Filter discussion thread.

I've been impressed with everything Dom has put out. (videos, products, explanations, etc) I cannot say the same about some of the other "Subaru Specialists" I have dealt with. Personally I think this mod would be worth it just to get my filter away from my Killer B headers. For heat related reasons and the PITA during the oil change. I also agree with him %100 on the bypass issues. I change my oil/filter at or before 3000 miles for this reason and since I'm running ethanol nearly exclusively. The black Tokyo Roki filter is 1/4" (at the most) away from touching my header. As far as the social media, I only really use it for car related groups. Unfortunately the forums seem to be dying a slow death. -

Pay cash for a $70k car? Maybe if I saved for 10 years. Sounds like we are in 2 different income brackets. A certain amount of debt is good and necessary for good credit.
-
Personally I'd rather put 20k into my LGT than commit to payments on a $70k car at this point in my life. If I then sold my LGT for $14k (a couple years later) I could live with that type of ROI.

Car Studdering / Loss of Low End Power
gkinslow replied to captainobvious's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
Do you have any way to log? You are going to need some data to point you in the right direction. Fuel trims, target boost vs actual boost, requested torque, etc. Couldn't hurt to start with a smoke test. -

Did you get a protune after the turbo and injector changes? -
A catless down pipe can also cause overboosting issues. EWG gives the tuner better control over boost pressures in general. It comes down to whether or not you trust your tuner. If the answer is no, then you should be using a different tuner.

And with OCV use only OEM replacements.
