  1. I passed on it not sure why the trans thought it was in 5th gear it clearly was not...(no slipping)
  2. OK drove the 2010 3.6R it had some issues 1. clunking from front end, sounded like sway bar bushings 2. loud whine that increased with road speed 3. Trans as at 3K going 60mph...
  3. last winter it was -30F and the car started just fine on the stock battery, i replaced it because it was 5 years old and they are not known to last. Put in a Napa Gold (east Penn) and car has no issues
  4. I wish you well, my SOA experience overall has left a very bad impression on me. things like we cannot go against the dealer, the dealer could not find a problem, etc...
  5. 2 things I would do: 1. free sliding caliper pins, if they do not slide, replace the brackets. They are $50 or so each 2. I would do a brake bleed on each wheel until you get fresh fluid out of each one. have an assistant add fluid as you bleed each wheel. I used a hand vacuum pump on each caliper. I had Subaru do my brake service and I had the soft spongy pedal on my 14 so I re-bled the system and voilla, no more issue... I will never use them again for service
  6. I know but those radio are not known for reliability overall so that is why i suggested it. Yes if you find the exact same model of radio from a 15 or 16 it is plug and play as far as I can recall
  7. with the CVT, you are quite limited as that thing just cannot handle the power that the E5AT could Raptor headers and super charger kit Subaru OEM LED headlights if you do not have them. 20mm rear swb
  8. i have restored worse using just sand paper, water, and pastix polish...
  9. place sound deadening material in the doors over the weather shield and over the rear tire wells. big improvement
  10. looking at this listing https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/794348642/overview/ if that person spent $50 and cleaned up those headlights and washed and waxed the car they could get a bit more monies
  11. I am sure that if a car can make it 1500 miles with little to no fluid, his car would be fine...with excess fluid
  12. Job is secure so amazingly the same 2010 outback 3.6R is not sold yet I am setting up a meeting 128K 2010 3.6R for $8000
  13. do you have starlink? did the subscription expire?
  14. if I am not mistaken the ABS module self bleeds on newer Subaru (not sure don't hold me to it) ...on older cars you could get it to do it by 1. turn ignition off 2. connect diagnostic connector under dash 3. Turn ignition to ON, do not start engine. 4. As soon as the ABS warning light goes off, depress brake pedal and hold it. 5. When ABS pump has finished cycling, turn ignition OFF.
  15. All I am going to say is do it right, don't take shortcuts... in particular if the rails are damaged, repair/replace per Subaru's guidelines. Spending the extra time now = you will not be going back into the car to fix it later. Also if you have the engine out, repair any rust on the body no matter how small Good luck Also Thread needs some pix of before during and after so we can enjoy your progress/results
  16. those cars are hard to come by and at least in my area a lot are beat down or salvage rebuilds... inspect the car before you buy and I would go as far as to do a compression test and intercooler inspection for oil ingestion from the turbo...
  17. ^ Wow subaru actually made something easy ahahahhaha i guess since they make it impossible to change a headlight without contortion or front clip disassembly lol they had to throw us a bone somehow... yeah the 3rd and 4th gen legacy outback are a pitb as Subaru decided to run a wire harness right next to tight up against the motor and it blocks the mounting plate for the blower motor. when I did my 2003 Legacy I had to remove the glove box, unplug a few connectors between the glove box and the door, unclip the harness and only then could i drop the blower motor down...
  18. remove MC and bench bleed it cause it is the only thing left...
  19. well there is that i forgot as I just typed up what I did with my car...
  20. yes it is doable and no it will not affect anything as the immobilizer is in the cluster and body integration unit
  21. my 14 came on EL200 and never got stuck, turn off traction control and the car will take care of it's self I have heard a lot of people do not like the good years that came on some cars. I live at the top of a very long climb and the Subaru's have yet to let me down....the 2003 and 2014
